Responsibilities Industrial Hygiene Representative is responsible for ownership and administration of the Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Fire and Life Safety programs for Clinton Laboratories. Positions within this department include process safety, industrial hygiene, occupational safety professionals, safety specialists, life safety systems specialist, and fire specialist. The primary purpose of this role is to assist the site in the development, implementation, and maintenance of various Industrial Hygiene and Health and Safety programs and processes. The key focus of this role will be leading the site’s Industrial Hygiene processes. The expectation for the minimum length of time in position is 3 years.
Customer Requests and Service:
Provide safety & industrial hygiene technical support to meet customer needs. Examples include: evaluating process and equipment changes/modifications, supporting incident investigations, conducting program and hazard analysis, supporting capital projects, local procedure review and development, and developing and implementing exposure control solutions.
Recognize, evaluate and aid in the control of personnel exposure potential to chemical, physical, and biological hazards encountered in the workplace. This process includes the use of both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques
Program Development, Administration and Regulatory Compliance:
Assist the business components in compliance assessments as well as providing leadership of safety and industrial hygiene programs. Assume the role of the subject matter expert for key HSE programs, which include development and maintenance of site level HSE programs, procedures and training. Interact/participate with Corporate HSE technical staff and involvement on corporate and/or network teams.
Facility / Equipment Design and Evaluation:
Assist the business components in assessing the containment capability of current assets, and improve them.
Develop, maintain and oversee execution of a comprehensive site exposure assessment strategy & plan
Bachelor of Science degree
3 years of experience in the field of safety with an emphasis in industrial hygiene.

Strong analytical skills, with particular regard to the sciences (ex. mathematics, data analysis, & chemistry)
Possess intermediate to advanced computer skills (Lotus Notes, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, GCMS, GIMS)
Strong communication skills, including the ability to speak in front of groups and write clear, concise reports & correspondence.
Ability to work independently
Strong organizational skills including expertise in managing multi-stage technical projects.
Strong teamwork/interpersonal skills
Ability to provide technical mentoring and coaching is also required
Bulk chemical manufacturing experience
Must complete current BET Maps assigned to the position.
Typical Shift: 8 hour day shift, 5 days a week, with consideration for flextime and flex schedules. Meeting customer needs prevail, so alternate schedules may occasionally be required to meet demands of the 24 hr operation.
Night and weekend work possible.
Occasional overtime is required.
Periodic trips (some overnight) to other Lilly facilities or to offsite training may be necessary.
Job requires working with customers in production and lab environments and lifting equipment up to 40 pounds.
This position requires work in production areas that may involve the presence of allergens.
