Responsibilities Manufacturing IT supports operational excellence and productivity efforts through utilization of information and technology. This includes maximizing and exploiting existing systems at all levels, benchmarking and replicating as much as possible and using data to drive process improvements and productivity. To achieve an e-Manufacturing vision, we must partner with the business on the following:
Enable seamless operations by performing transactions on any devices, at any time, from any location
Enable a curious mindset for our business partners to experience their data via trends and dashboards
Ensure practice matches procedures by flawless execution
Drive towards a paperless operation by capturing all data electronically
This IT position will be part of the Manufacturing & Quality (MQ) Labs IT Team. The MQ Labs IT team is purposed to deliver and support various laboratory processes through various globally common software. This software enables Lilly to make high quality medicines by supporting Lilly’s global quality standards. This position will focus on the following key elements:
Developing, implementing and supporting Lab Scheduling capabilities
Communicating with sites on implementation of Lab Intelligence solutions
Improving the data management and reporting capability
Escalation point for Tier 2/3 support
This position will report to the Manager – MQ Labs IT.
Works with key business partners and Lab Intelligence Business Process Architect (LI-BPA) to identify business problems and build solutions to resolve those problems
Understands business area well enough to anticipate short term and future needs; helps with business case and ensures alignment on business requirements.
In partnership with business partners in the Global Quality Lab Informatics organization, articulates and measures business value.
Seeks feedback from sites and global functions on future LI solutions.
Works with LI-BPA to ensure global (site and center) acceptance of LI solutions.
Works with LI-BPA to ensure “people ready” issues (escalations, communication, training, OCM) are addressed during deployment of any new integrated LI solutions.
Where appropriate, integrates with the global Data Integration and Analytics team on aspects (initiation, delivery, support, retirement, etc.) of the LI portfolio.
Execute design reviews for key projects.
Works cross functionally, with business and IT, to resolve issues. May be escalation point for resolution of critical/complex IT issues.
Works with LI-BPA to ensure long term support for delivered solutions.
Service Provider (internal or external):
Where appropriate, works directly with service provider to ensure appropriate understanding of business area and understand the strategic direction of the product(s).
Responsible for ensuring service provider understands business process and assists in translating the business process design into implementation specifications.

BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field preferred
Strong business intelligence technical skills.
Understanding of Laboratory processes and technologies
Demonstrated ability to influence others to adopt different point of view or concept.
Demonstrated ability to understand and influence integration points with other processes, functions or business areas.
Manufacturing site or QC Laboratory experience.
Experience working globally across organizational levels and cultures.
Additional Information FDE Only-This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.
