Responsibilities Innovation is a hallmark of Lilly, but not just in the lab. We are currently in a transformation of our commercial model, with considerable innovation in marketing. The US Multi-Channel Engagement Hub is being created to unify the pursuit across business units (Biomedicines, Oncology, Diabetes) of evolving our marketing practices at Lilly for how we interact with customers who are health care providers. The vision is to create an industry leading MCE capability utilizing modern communication channels within the customer workflow to help us create a much more valued, relevant, and integrated customer experience that also drives more efficient business results. Much progress has been made and new capabilities developed, but we now need to take MCE to the next level.

The MCE Strategy Manager is a core marketing role and the primary contact from the MCE team to partner with brand teams in leading them through all phases of MCE campaign development, execution, and measurement. The MCE Strategy Lead deeply understands brand strategy to collaborate with several internal subject matter experts, agencies and other external partners, to run industry leading multichannel campaigns engaging health care providers. The key job responsibilities include:

Lead collaboratively with brand team through all steps of the MCE Planning framework – Segmentation, Investment modeling, Message flow/Content strategy, Channel Mix, Campaign Design, Measurement plan. Create planning deliverables for brand review and approval.

  • Partner with experts across Lilly and agencies to ensure high quality MCE campaign plan – AOR, Media Services/Agency, Digital agency, Analytics, IT, Etc. Write MCE Campaign Brief to align expectations.

  • Partner with the Campaign Assoc. through planning phase to ensure they have required deliverables and clarity to develop execution plans for the campaign.

  • Oversee campaign execution, partnering with Campaign Assoc., and keep brand well informed on progress.

  • Identify areas to optimize campaign such as customer focus, content adjustments, channel mix, and campaign engagement sequencing to improve customer engagement, customer experience or volume/ROI.

  • Understand brand performance vs. competitive set to ensure we set the bar to lead the customer experience.

  • Share deep technical expertise in MCE principles and approaches to enable the team to move through MCE processes effectively.

  • Identify and help remove organizational barriers to designing and executing the intended campaigns.

  • Influence and negotiate resources to support MCE goals for brands relative to the broader business.

  • Identify opportunities to improve MCE processes and approaches overall and work across BU’s to standardize improvements.

  • Influence internal “systems” to enable MCE Implementation across functions as necessary in partnership with MCE lead team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 4+ years of multi-channel and/or marketing experience

  • Deep marketing knowledge, particularly within healthcare: an understanding of brand marketing strategies and principles

  • Demonstrated understanding of multichannel marketing principles; must have a robust digital or CRM background inclusive of acquisition, conversion and adherence/loyalty programming

  • Experience leveraging data and insights to inform strategies and optimize execution of channels/campaigns..

  • Experience in developing operational processes to drive efficiencies and optimization in how plans/assets are brought to market

  • Experience with planning and execution of integrated promotional campaigns across channels like: digital educational, web, mobile, email, direct mail, peer-to-peer, sales force and social media.

  • 4+ years of industry experience

  • Technical marketing competencies in key areas related to MCE –brand positioning/strategy/creative campaigns, segmentation, messaging/content strategy, channel mix, creating and running multi-channel executional campaigns, marketing mix measurement, marketing operations.

  • Understanding of data and technology solutions in marketing a plus.

  • Disease state experiences for respective role a plus – Oncology, Diabetes, Immunology/Neuroscience/Specialty brands.

  • Ability to influence without authority from peer level to VP level.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with complexity and provide simple, yet eloquent, solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills including: High EQ, Strong Listening skills, Great articulation of “why’s”, articulation of concepts clearly.

  • MBA Preferred
