Responsibilities We are the Protein Optimization Team of Biotechnology Discovery Research responsible for generating, characterizing, and optimizing biotherapeutics from lead generation to lead optimization and preclinical development. We are seeking a motivated research associate to join our talented multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for generating data to provide a deeper understanding of Fc-receptor biology. You will also be responsible for in vitro characterization of immune cell-mediated effector function potential of therapeutic antibodies or Fc fusion proteins, executing new technologies, protocols and assay techniques for assessing effector function response in humans, mouse and non-human primates. Experience in the use and design of cell-based reporter assays is important. You should also possess strong core competency in immunology, with experience in molecular and immunological techniques such as primary cell isolation, immune cell functional assays, ELISA/Luminex/MSD, mammalian cell tissue culture, western blots, flow cytometry and/or RT-qPCR. Experience with molecular biology techniques, and microscopy is preferred. Moreover, as part of the Protein Optimization Team you will engage in cross-disciplinary efforts across discovery and development.
Some key responsibilities within this role are:
In vitro characterization of Fc-mediated effector function response. Isolation and maintenance of primary cells from blood samples or animal tissues as well as stable/overexpression cell lines for cell-based reporter assays.
Characterize target cell phenotype as well as dissect Fc-receptor signaling pathways using techniques such as western blots, flow cytometry, RT-qPCR and or ELISA/Luminex/MSD.
Work in multifunctional teams.
Present experimental data at team meetings
Bachelor Degree in Biological Science or related field with at least 2 years of research experience or
MS degree in Biological Sciences, Immunology or related field is required.

Capability of independently designing experiments, generating data, interpreting results and documenting work.
Effective oral and written communication skills, self management, task planning and organization skills.
Pharmaceutical experience is preferred.

Additional Information This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.
