Responsibilities Automation Technical Lead will lead the technical design of systems and software to create and maintain automation solutions with a focus on the technology and quality control of the robots. The solutions will include maintaining robotic process automations (RPA) and supporting the Control Room and technical environments. This includes defining, designing, developing, implementing, and supporting all technical infrastructure for automation solutions including but not limited to robotic process automation tools.

The purpose of this position within the GBS Automation COE is to develop and deliver robotic automation for the finance global business solutions teams. The GBS Automation COE is responsible for providing automation solutions through the use of robotics process automation and other automation solutions.

Responsibilities / Duties

  • Responsible for design, development, testing, and implementation of RPA bot’s that will interact with multiple third party applications

  • Develop system requirements, design, prototype, and test custom technology solutions, and support system implementation

  • Works with RPA COE Leader and IT liaison to review IT infrastructure changes and disruptors

  • Identify opportunities for improvement in existing process and automate the process using RPA software

  • Provide on-going operational support including upgrades, defect fixes and any Process change activities

  • Leads and participates in the development process, including constructing and maintaining efficient, reusable and reliable code with robotic process automation software and tools

  • Leads and participates in testing activities, including integration testing, end-to-end (business process) testing and user acceptance testing

  • Leads and participates in the problem identification/error resolution process, including tracking, repairing and reporting defects

  • Fine tune performance and operation issues that arise with RPA Bots

  • Creates, edits, revises and finalizes life cycle deliverables such as requirements specifications, solution design documents, and operating instructions (i.e. SOP)

  • Creates and maintains process, technical, project or other documentation, as may be required, to support development, project management and training

  • Coordinates sign-off approvals by business and technical staff to certify successful results of milestone deliverable(s) or phase completion, including program development and deployment

  • Performs code review of service provider automations and provides constructive feedback to ensure quality of code

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Business or Management Information Systems or Computer Science

  • At least 1 - 2 years of experience using robotics process automation software

  • 5 – 7 years of programmer and/or analyst experience with supply chain/finance/administrative business processes, systems and applications of varying scope and complexity

  • 3+ Years of hands-on experience in developing macros, automation tools, and advanced excel

  • Experience with systems development life cycle and structured programming methods (both traditional and agile), including requirements definition, solution design, program development, testing, documentation, training, deployment, operations, support and maintenance

  • Exposure to performance measurement and continuous improvement (Lean / Six-Sigma)

  • Experience working with third-party service providers is a plus

  • Willingness to travel, some location(s) located in offshore geographies

  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • An understanding of workflow based logic; ability to both understand a business process from a workflow diagram or procedural documentation

  • Excellent interpersonal communications skills; able to effectively communicate and build relationships with end users, peers, management and third parties
