Responsibilities Integrated Services:

The Integrated Services Group manages the implementation of complex projects related to the Lilly single global instance of SAP, as wells as other systems and processes that connect to SAP. This team supports all business units and divisions of the corporation. Projects include the integration of new plant sites, changes related to logistics, acquisitions, divestitures, system upgrades, and integration of new technology for purpose of automation or meeting external requirements. Team members include global process owners, subject matter experts, master data experts, and other support roles who help manage the end-to-end integration. This group also provides production support and master data governance. The Integrated Services works in close partnership with the Information Technology team in support of all initiatives.

Position Description:

Master Data Governance is essential to the successful use of SAP at Eli Lilly and Company. Without clean, accurate, relevant, and consistent master data, SAP cannot be leveraged to its full potential.

The Finance Data Manager is accountable for the strategic direction and oversight of the global data analysts in governing master data, implementing projects, and supporting end-users. This leadership position will assure the Finance Global Data Analyst team delivers master data education, consulting, high-level problem resolution, and process improvements to leverage the use of SAP to make supply chain and financial business processes more efficient and effective. This position is also accountable for aligning with manufacturing sites, supply chain, Global Business Solutions organization, the financial business organization, and the IT organizations to deliver timely process improvements and projects in pharma, Elanco, and PR&D. The Finance Data Manager is responsible for developing, motivating, and growing a world class technical organization, which includes the development of master data, business process and SAP mastery.

Key Responsibilities Include:

People Management and Development

  • Recruit, develop, retain, and motivate talent to ensure master data management (MDM) success.

  • Formally mentor and develop teammates across Integrated Services and manufacturing.

  • Manage performance and ensure MDM associate development.

  • Own and cultivate strong partnerships with IT, manufacturing, supply chain, and the GBS centers

  • Manage capacity of MDM associates and assign them to projects or other initiatives to further develop skill set and experiences

  • This position is expected to have 5 subordinates

Strategy Development and Management

  • Customer Experience

  • Make decisions, define, and create the MDM performance objectives

  • Remove barriers that prohibit team from delivering a positive customer experience.

  • Identify key insight(s) for the MDM team in partnership with key customers

  • Accountable for overseeing the development and delivery of key MDM communications on MDM strategy, organization, and key initiatives

  • Relationship Management

  • Provide oversight of vision, goals, and objectives for MDM

  • Develop strong partnerships and engagement with the global process owners, subject matter experts, project management organization and IT leadership

  • Foster productive and positive strategic relationships and manage integration among partners and the customer base

  • Budget Management

  • Responsible for management of the MDM budgets and associated operating expenses and capital spend

  • Responsible for making budget trade-off decisions for the team

  • Contribute to the development of the Integrated Services business plan each year

  • Develop strategy for capacity management to determine and communicate when temporary resources are required

  • Risk Management

  • Responsible for understanding, implementation, and adherence to company policies, processes and external obligations, as applicable.

  • Ensure team operates in compliance with The Red Book, Corporate Integrity Agreement, Financial Policies and all Compliance procedures.

Integrated Services Operations Management and Oversight

  • Assure organization delivers on the approved project timelines and shares key learning points to improve the Integrated Services governance process

  • Assure production support is provided for MDM to the manufacturing sites, the Global Business Solution Centers, and the supply chain team in pharma, Elanco and PR&D to meet positive customer experiences

  • Build relationships and conduct MDM discussions to assure MDM process are understood, stable, controlled, and efficient

  • Identify and solve a range of organizational and operational problems and technical challenges

  • Provide oversight and participation in projects focused on leading change and process improvements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Engineering, Sciences, Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field

  • A minimum of 3 years working with SAP

  • At least 5 years Lilly or industry experience in supply chain, finance or data management with some formal leadership responsibilities

  • Previous experience engaging, leading and managing teams within function or across functions

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Extensive knowledge about the Finance business, especially the key data components relevant to business processes and their interconnectivity

  • Strong SAP usability knowledge and experiences to offer direction, oversight, and guidance on how SAP can be leveraged to meet business process needs

  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional decision-making with a focus on results

  • Demonstrated ability to recognize opportunities and form a vision for what can be achieved and set or strongly influence the setting of direction

  • Proven ability to coach and develop people in a way that leads to superior work performance

  • Ability to work and lead effectively in a virtual team environment with multiple internal and external business partners / service providers.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Previous experience supporting multiple countries for a global company utilizing a shared service center support structure

  • Previous SAP implementation experience

  • Effective project management skills

  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to adapt quickly to complex circumstances and situations, learn while doing, and navigate through an ambiguous situation or issue quickly

  • 2+ years leadership experience

Additional Information

  • Work shift: Full time, normal work shift

  • Due to the nature of the support activities, some overtime and/or “off hours” effort may be required during peak business times

  • Some international travel will be required (up to 20% of the working time)
