Responsibilities GICOE plays an integral role in the delivery of the infrastructure services that enable the information technology solutions that drive business processes across the enterprise. GICOE pursues its services with constant emphasis on running reliably, helping people work smarter, making IT easier, securing information fully, and improving time to value. Within GICOE, the IT Infrastructure Hosting Services (IIHS) organization manages a complex and robust environment consisting of 12,000+ servers globally, over 20 petabytes of provisioned storage, data center (DC) network and load balancing, and virtualization technologies in support of business applications. These services are used across every business function/geographic location and span the entire infrastructure lifecycle from design to retirement. Lilly runs multiple global enterprise, regional, and disaster recovery data centers that are a critical component of the IT infrastructure. They will also work with the various business areas to ensure data center networking services being provided help power the business and will continue to identify enhancement opportunities and new capabilities to solve additional business needs.

The role will assume accountability for the technical aspects of solution delivery activities related to changes in the DC network architecture, lifecycle management of devices, or customer projects. The role primarily supports the delivery of new capabilities and projects; however, the technical expertise of the role holder will help ensure operational reliability and address major incidents, accomplished through close coordination and oversight of the Network Service Provider who is responsible for the operational support of the network devices within Lilly's data centers.
