Responsibilities The position is one that provides support to the Quality Control department by ensuring that all in vivo testing is carried out accurately and according to schedule.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

  • Use and maintenance of laboratory equipment, e.g.: microscope, centrifuge, pipette, Bio-safety cabinet

  • Perform media/reagent preparation, equipment preparation and basic laboratory procedures and understand impact on product quality, e.g.: Potency Assays, testing reagents

  • Perform animal restraint, injections and blood collection

  • Accurately complete records and data entry in accordance with Quality Assurance guidelines.

  • Follow good laboratory practices, e.g.: aseptic technique, gowning procedures.

  • Clean and disinfect laboratories and associated equipment.

  • Proper handling and disposal of waste materials.

  • Schedules daily work for efficient completion of tasks.

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Management

  • Prepare and review records

  • Ensuring quality standards are met, e.g.: reject rates, variances, and retests

  • Comply with all Elanco and Regulatory standards, e.g.: HSE, USDA, Animal Welfare

Basic Qualifications

  • Associates degree or High school diploma/GED plus 2 years lab or clinic experience

  • Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • 4 year Degree

  • Animal handling experience (Small and some large).

  • Awareness of Good Documentation practices.

  • Awareness and general understanding of established and proposed federal, state and local regulations, guidelines and policies relating to animal biologics

  • General knowledge of laboratory equipment is helpful.

  • Verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with the Lilly personnel in English.

  • Transferrable skills and ability to learn new tasks.
