Position Description:

The Global Services Solutions IDS Team supports company critical solutions that enable our Global Services business partners, e.g. Legal and Ethics and Compliance, to support and protect Lilly’s most essential assets. This position will be responsible for the support, development, and maintenance of our Global Services Insights Platform.

The Data Integration Developer has a deep understanding of various technologies and developer tools used to create stable, reliable, and effective modern data ecosystems for data science, data discovery, and BI/analytics. The Developer has expertise in problem solving and the ability to translate business requirements into designs and solutions.

Key Objectives/Deliverables

  • Gather user requirements and translate them into business solutions.

  • Design, develop, test, improve, and maintain new and existing solutions for data integration, data prep, ingestion, cleansing, and transforming raw data into curated datasets for business consumption.

  • Incorporate deep data management expertise into solutions, including permissions, recovery, security, and monitoring.

  • Validate and qualify solutions.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues.

  • Work with business and IT groups to understand source systems and enterprise infrastructure offerings.

  • Work with data from multiple data sources to build integrated views that will drive decisions

  • Consult with internal customers who own the data to develop information relationships that lead to actionable insights.

  • Work in Agile Sprints with business facing project teams

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other developers to ensure system consistency and adherence to standards and best practices.

  • Develop solid understanding of business processes and needs to identify new capabilities and features.

  • Optimize and maintain legacy solutions.

  • Collaborate with administrators and clients to provide technical and data management support.

  • Solve database usage issues and malfunctions.

  • Develop and maintain technical and training documentation.

  • Ensure all data solutions meet performance requirements.

  • Research and suggest new products, services, and protocols.

  • Partner with Solution and Data Architects to understand and influence evolving technical design.

  • Coach/ Mentor management, team, and others on technologies and design.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years’ experience in the implementation of modern data ecosystems.

  • Expertise in writing T-SQL Queries, Dynamic-queries, sub-queries and complex joins for generating Complex Stored Procedures, Triggers, User-defined Functions, Views and Cursors.

  • Skilled in error and event handling: precedence Constraints, Break Points, Check points and Logging.

  • Experience in using SSIS tools like Import and Export Wizard, Package Installation, and SSIS Package Designer.

  • Experience in importing/exporting data between different sources like Oracle/Access/Excel etc. using SSIS/DTS utility.

  • Knowledge in Python, UNIX Shell scripting and ETL

  • Experience with JSON, REST API, and other data integration technologies

  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more cloud-based data solutions.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • A high level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective, and innovation interest

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and investigative skills

  • Experience in applying quality and compliance requirements

  • Experience with security models and development on large data sets

  • Fluency in English.

  • Excellent self-management skills.

  • RDBMS MS SQL SERVER 2008/2005/2000, MS Access, Oracle8i/9i.

  • Database Tools SQL Query Analyzer, SQL Enterprise Manager, Management

  • Studio, Query Editor, Reporting Server, MS-Access

  • ETL Tools Data Transformation Services (DTS), MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

  • MS SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

  • BI Tools MS SQL Business Intelligence

  • ITIL Certification
