Duties:

  • Partner effectively with development teams to build out pipelines to build and deploy the code developed by all cloud services, including portals, API endpoints, and backend microservices.

  • Build automation that can be centralized by use of many or all development teams, reducing friction and improving supportability.

  • Develop tooling to easily monitor and triage errors from build to deploy throughout the entire pipeline ecosystem.

  • Keep the tooling and pipelines themselves up to date. Ensure that the processes are healthy, reliable, and secure.

  • Maintain the audit trail of the CI/CD systems to effectively troubleshoot and demonstrate control to regulatory areas

  • Over time, demonstrate the skills to keep Digital Health’s custom deployment orchestrator (written in NodeJS) up to date. Participate in paired design/development work with the CDP team. Build features into the orchestrator in preparation for a full takeover of this framework.

  • Support teams using the orchestrator to perform deployments. Troubleshoot errors and identify gaps needed for new features or improvements.

  • Work with testing teams (security, functional, mobile, etc.) to cleanly integrate their work into automated pipelines. Optimally, develop interfaces and standardization that these teams can use to self-service using the same technologies as our build and deploy pipelines.

  • Work towards a simplified onboarding of new development teams by streamlining and standardizing this process. Give CI/CD training to new developers or teams as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Broad practical knowledge of an IaaS cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure). AWS is preferred

  • Deep experience in CI processes (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, BitBucket Pipelines, etc) is required

  • Ability to write a utility to automate an immediate need using a shell or scripting language is a hard requirement

  • Applicant needs to be able to demonstrate deep knowledge of containerized environments (Docker). Linux experience using any distribution is also implied.

  • Cloud SA or Developer certifications a plus

  • Experience in Serverless architectures preferred

  • Current development experience in NodeJS and Python greatly preferred

  • Capability to choose between many paths of design and articulate why one may be better than another

  • Presentation and public speaking skills would be useful for roadmap and training updates

  • Comfortable interacting in with enterprise-grade communication workflows using tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or similar tools
