Medicines Development (MD) Information and Digital Solutions (IDS) serves as a strategic function within the Lilly Medicines Development Unit. There are tremendous opportunities in MD IDS as continued investments are made in the transformation associated with the next generation of drug development and the goals of a Digital MD. Global Patient Safety is part of the MD IDS organization which helps speed innovation to patients by ensuring drug safety that ultimately enables the right treatment to the right patient at the right time.

Key Responsibilities:

Business and Data Analyst

  • Actively engage in efforts to adopt enterprise capabilities and adapt services

  • Partner with the enterprise teams in processes, activities, and events to create, authorize and provision access to data products

  • Proactively engage with IDS business partners and information consultants to deliver business value from data initiatives

  • Leverage and continuously improve our services to fulfill consumer data requests which include activities such as driving clarity of business processes, use cases, and data attributes, facilitating Privacy and compliance processes, partnering on solution delivery and support needs, providing cost estimates for planning purposes, and managing delivery expectations.

  • Effectively translate business process and data needs into technical terms and vice versa, producing necessary artefacts

  • Participate in the estimation of activities with solution delivery, account teams and information consultants, own technical implementation of the user story and ensure the design, build, and unit integration testing for new/modified features

  • Using statistical tools to identify, analyse, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction

  • Perform data cleansing activities to remove data corruption/gaps and filter data required for functional use cases.

  • Preparing reports for the stakeholders stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data

Technology Integrator

  • Elicit business needs, perform data analysis, develop queries, and deliver consumer web services using e.g., OData, SQL supporting consumer and information data requests

  • Assess and apply query performance tuning or reusability opportunities

  • Ensure and apply proper data security based on process, business rules and approvals

  • Partner with Solution Delivery and Service teams to ensure data availability and access

  • Engage in solution visioning, apply improvements, and provide technical support.

  • Participate in release planning discussions with Support team(s) to ensure projects, changes etc are properly planned for specific releases

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience with the following:

  • 3+ years business requirements elicitation and data analysis experience

  • 3+ years SQL development and data modelling experience

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and follow quality and compliance processes and procedures.

  • Experience in programming language preferably Python.

  • Good exposure in Data visualization tools and in presenting the data.

  • Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, problem solving, process improvement skills, self-management, and execution leadership skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working with GitHub

  • Experience with AWS’ data products

  • Experience with ServiceNow and HP ALM

  • Data warehouse knowledge or experience

  • Experience with software development life cycle, spanning project initiation through support

  • Experience delivering or supporting systems with multiple points of integration with other technologies or applications.
