Position Description:

Medicines Development Information and Digital Solutions (MD IDS) serves as a strategic function within Lilly Research Laboratories partnering with the Medicines Development Unit (MDU). The MDU focuses on taking potential marketable products from Research through product registration and approval. MD IDS focuses on the MDU business needs of the future, enabling improvements through information and technology solutions. The teams define and influence information and business strategies, design and develop solutions to achieve the strategic outcomes, and ensure reliable deployment and support of these solutions.

To help meet the increasing demand for Product Delivery capabilities within MD IDS Lilly, we are looking to hire talented Technical Lead in Lilly Capability Center in India. The technical lead will work on various projects in close partnership with the Product Delivery team supporting the Medicines Development (MD IDS) function. Provide technical leadership and coaching in the application development & SaaS specific domain. Strong background and breadth of IT experience across a broad technology landscape with close to 10 years of IT experience. Should be hands-on with coding to work with team in sharing development responsibilities. The technical lead will understand, lead, and drive the technology discussions across the Product delivery platform. Provides the necessary leadership, analysis and design tasks related to support the development of technology solutions to ensure solutions meet business needs. Key Objectives/Deliverables

  • Understands business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determines corresponding system designs, change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes. Understands emerging technology trends and disruptions and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business.

  • Lead requirements capturing exercises, understanding the “what” and “why” from a business perspective before figuring out technology “how”. Partner with internal and external technical teams to understand and influence the appropriate menu of technologies and tools to be used for solution delivery efforts.

  • Provides deliverables like standard definitions, reference models and architecture designs (focused on detailed design principles, detailed APIs, major systems and dependencies between business and IT) to help the architecture review board assess the impact of new and ongoing technology investment on the business and IT estate.

  • Analyses the business-IT environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, legacy, and technical debt, and recommends solutions for improvement.

  • Facilitates the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services, as well as the design of standard and custom software configurations.

  • Supports product managers in product decisions to maintain, refresh or retire products, services, or systems (including applications, technologies, processes, and information). Works closely with the product owners and product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Tech leader will provide service as Tier 3 support/consulting as a part of the LCCI Operations Support Group

Required Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of various backend development languages like C#, .Net

  • Knowledge of various database technologies like Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server (familiar with SQL Server Management Studio, TOAD, etc.)

  • Process Improvement experience – (e.g., ServiceNow)

Desired Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of various frontend web development languages like JavaScript, Python, PLSQL, .Net,

  • Awareness of foundational UX/UI design principles, trends, and tools such as Sketch, InVision, or Adobe Creative Suite and experience consuming high-fidelity designs from UX designers

  • Knowledge of reporting in SSRS, PowerBI

  • Knowledge of Informatica or data movement technologies (MQ)

  • Webserver experience (IIS)

Additional Technical Skills

  • Barcode scanning and RF hardware (Intermec, LXE, Motorola, Symbol)

  • Knowledge of warehouse management systems (Korber HighJump Software, RedPrairie (JDA), Manhattan Associates, SAP- WM, Oracle-WM, Accellos, Infor, etc.)

  • Labelling Technology (Bartender or Loftware)

  • Knowledge of the AWS environment (S3, EC2 Athena, Redshift), its services, cost, processes

Desired Tech Lead Skills

  • Knowledge of various aspects of an enterprise technology architecture like business, information, data, network, and security. Knowledge of information principles and processes

  • Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as waterfall, agile software development, rapid prototyping, and DevOps)

  • Understanding and knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

  • Excellent analytical, planning, organizational and technical and skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with developers in-house an in-and-out outsourced environment.

  • Excellent understanding of application development methodologies and infrastructure and network architecture

  • Skilled at influencing, guiding, and facilitating stakeholders and peers with decision making.

  • Ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.

  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
