This position is responsible for providing second shift engineering support of manufacturing equipment and operations. This position will interface with the Process/Plant Engineering, IT, TS/MS, manufacturing, maintenance, validation, quality assurance, and other Lilly Sites as required. Subject Matter Expert on Rockwell Automation hardware and software including Control Logix PLCs, FTView SE HMIs and FT Batch codes; and OSI PI historian. Knowledge of cell culture, purification and support systems, and its associated bioprocessing equipment used in the manufacturing of biotech products is plus. Support hours are Four days on – Four days off from approximately 12:00 pm to 12:30 am.
Responsible for supporting clinical and commercial manufacturing operations through representation on Process Teams:
Respond to and troubleshoot process automation and equipment related issues; provide direct, on-the-floor engineering support of manufacturing processes to troubleshoot PLC, HMI and batch recipe codes.
Use historian data and other sources of process data to extract and chart relevant process parameters on a continuous basis. Uses process automation knowledge to analyze possible solutions to solve a range of problems.
Ensure regulatory compliance from an equipment and process automation performance aspect. Understand capability and capacity of unit operations and process.
Supports Manufacturing and Facility by responding to questions, sharing process knowledge, and troubleshooting issues as they occur. Respond to operations needs and handles standard and non-standard requests.
As required, may support equipment related investigation and resolutions. Provide process related input to process team for deviations and observations.
Own or support for process automation related change controls, or implementation of CAPAs.
Write SOPs and execute PM work orders, ensuring procedures can be executed as written to ensure practice matches procedure, as it relates to the process equipment and order of operations.
As required, coordinate activities and may provide engineering support to Senior engineers and 1st shift automation engineers for capital projects, Preventative Maintenance and shutdown related activity.
Performs all job functions with Data Integrity ALCOA+ principles, adherence to company policies, in a cGMP manner, safely and ethically.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Education :
BS degree in Chemical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related engineering discipline
Have technical knowledge and experience with Automation Systems.
Have experience with frontline support in a GMP environment.
Minimum of 2+ years experience
Additional Skills/ Preferences:
Demonstrate a deep technical knowledge and experience with Rockwell (PLC/HMI/Recipe management) Automation Systems.
Thorough understanding of GMP requirements for a large scale manufacturing facility.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Aggressive, curious, and solution driven. Self-directed personality, with ability to work independently, self-sufficiently, and proactively in the performance of work duties.
