In the RNA Team, both basic and applied sciences are vital. We are looking for creative and energetic problem solvers to lead in a multidisciplinary team at the front edge of innovation. Key facets of the role are identifying next generation tissue opportunities, leading teams in design of ligands for specific cellular and tissue delivery and synthesis and, purification for sophisticated molecule assembly. These are efforts that progress our innovative preclinical portfolio with focus on scientific precision and portfolio effectiveness. We are building state-of-the art expertise in major oligonucleotide-based modalities and delivery approaches, with an emphasis on innovative approaches with potential for breakthrough efficacy.
This position will play a lead role, acting as senior scientific advisor and provide key technical knowledge to design and implement scientific research projects to develop oligonucleotide/RNA based therapeutics. You will join our fast-paced, interdisciplinary team as we apply novel RNA/oligonucleotide based therapeutic modalities to enhance the Lilly portfolio. The successful applicant will use their knowledge and technical expertise to complement and enable core capabilities and help drive the revelation and development of RNA-based clinical candidates. - PhD in Organic Chemistry or related field with a minimum of 4 years of proven experience in bioconjugation techniques with peptides or macromolecules.
Provide strategic direction to bioconjugation capabilities for oligonucleotides, propose new insights to team members and collaborators
Implement or direct conjugation of targeting ligands such as peptides, small molecule conjugation to oligonucleotides, purification and characterization techniques
Demonstrate working knowledge and experience in the areas of bioconjugation techniques to produce novel oligonucleotide conjugates.
Build and lead internal team of chemists and handle external CRO workstreams as needed.
