Primary Responsibilities:
This position will combine deep biological understanding with strong analytical skills to lead analysis projects in support of the development of an siRNA platform and target projects.
Implement translational strategies to characterize and optimize candidate properties of therapies in early development. This will include identifying the most impactful physicochemical properties and chemistry modifications that influence the in-vivo response. Furthermore, determining the impact of these chemistries on including intrinsic potency vs increased exposure, distribution, and stability
Responsible for quantitative data analysis to characterize the exposure and safety/efficacy relationship across different species in the development process. In addition, you will be developing causal models to explain the impact of time between administration, mRNA reductions, Protein reductions and behavioral responses.
Support the development of imaging endpoints that determine distribution, exposure, and potency within a single image. Combine and correlate with higher throughput assays to provide recommendations for future workflows
Work collaboratively with each specialized functional team to understand the intricacies of the assays (e.g. genomics, proteomics, mass spec, histology) and ensure fit-for-purpose analyses are produced
Basic Qualifications
- PhD, or MS degree in a life sciences field, or a relavent field of study with 4+ years of relavent experience, or BSc with 10+ years of relavent experience.
Additional Skills/Preferences
Previous industry experience
Good understanding of statistical methodologies such as mixed effects models, Bayesian inference, random forests/gradient boosting
Deep biological understanding of mechanisms of action, disease/disorder progression related to neurodegeneration and/or pain
Creative and critical thinking skills to solve difficult technical problems
Capable of working independently yet within a matrix organization
Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and deliver the results by timelines
Ability to adapt and exercise flexibility for changing needs, workflows and projects
Knowledge of RNA chemistry, experience in RNAi discovery, especially in siRNA design
Extensive programming experience with R, Python and Javascript
Experience working with Cloud (AWS) and High-Performance Computing
