Responsibilities

Each student is assigned to an area where they will put their acquired knowledge into practice by working on a variety of projects and daily tasks on a full-time basis for a period of approximately 20 weeks. These projects and tasks will be focused on improving and innovating certain processes.

For Engineering majors, these areas may include, but are not limited to:

  • Process, Control and Automation

  • Maintenance

  • Operational Excellence

  • Technical Services and Manufacturing Science

  • Utilities

  • Information Technology

  • Quality Assurance or Quality Control

  • Material Management

  • Environmental Health and Safety

  • Learning and Development

  • Quality Assurance or Quality Control

  • Analytical Excellence Laboratory

  • Environmental Health and Safety

  • Technical Services and Manufacturing Science

  • Information Technology

Education:

Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor, Master or Doctorate’s degree within the following Science majors at an accredited college or institution:

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Computer Engineering

  • Pharmacy

  • Chemistry

  • Microbiology

  • Industrial Biotechnology

  • Industrial Hygiene

Please note that for bachelor’s degree, candidate must be in its 3rd year as a minimum. Although a GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred, a GPA of 3.00 is considered the minimum requirement.

Availability:

Must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week (full-time) for a minimum of 20 weeks. Based on individual performance and the needs of the organization, the COOP period for each student can last from 5 months to a maximum of 1 year.
