Position Description:

Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain and Logistics, the Associate Director - Supply Chain will join the team supporting the creation of standard operating processes for planning and purchasing activities, ensure materials are available for routine operations, and ultimately be responsible for hiring a team of people to support production operations.  Incumbent will be responsible for overseeing supply chain related activities in planning / material purchasing for the Concord, NC manufacturing site.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

Support site start-up and provide subject matter expertise in planning/purchasing operations.

  • Hire staff according to the hiring plan provided

  • Provide training, support, and development for all staff within the planning organization.

  • Provide leadership to the work group / team to attain departmental and site objectives for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people

  • Partner with Warehouse operations to ensure robust inventory management process is developed and maintained

  • Ensure master data is created, maintained, and accurate in both SAP ECC and SAP EWM

  • Participate in the development and deployment of strategies associated with continuous improvement, corrective, and preventative actions, 6 sigma, and lean methodologies

  • Create, deploy, and comply with GMP procedures; understand GMP regulations and provide expertise in planning operations

  • This role functions as the primary interface with site operations, Logistics, Tech Services, QC, Engineering and Health, Safety and Environment

  • This role may be asked to support regulatory inspections

  • Meet appropriate goals for performance improvements as defined by area Leadership

  • Drives accountability for results

  • Follow and execute policies and procedures impacting planning activities.

  • Responsible for acting on behalf of Concord, NC Supply Chain to integrate with the cross functional team to gain an understanding of site operations and predict or respond to potential issues and identify improvement opportunities that arise

  • Leads monthly S&OP meeting / Inventory Management strategy for the site

  • Govern master data (materials, BOMs, Recipes, Resources) throughout the Concord, NC site

  • Devise plans to balance the demands of the marketplace with resources and capacity over 24month horizon across the SC. Ensure planners prepares the MPP

  • Measures and publishes performance to plan results for each manufacturing area

  • On consistent, ongoing basis, establish critical inventory targets, adjusting/modifying targets based on actual, current results

  • Aligns planning/material purchasing efforts across the site network to achieve the objectives of the business plan.

  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements (Education, Experience, Training):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Management or related field. Master's degree in any of the above disciplines is desirable.

  • 7+ years of previous supply chain experience required

  • Knowledge of SAP ERP system

  • Experience in the following: GMP guidelines, Procurement/Purchasing, Planning, Capacity planning

Preferred attributes but not required:

  • Master's degreerelated to Supply Chain

  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Previous experience supervising people

  • Solid understanding of quality and corporate policies

  • Solid understanding of the importance of and basic requirements of regulatory agencies such as the FDA, OSHA, and EPA

  • Demonstrate solid judgement and initiative; Enthusiastic, positive attitude, flexible and willing to work overtime

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE corporate and site goal

  • SAP ECC and EWM experience

  • Prior personnel management a plus

  • GMP experience preferred

  • Preferably APICS and/or other SC certification
