Lilly Associate Director - Design Hub - Patient & Site Experience in Cork, Ireland

The Associate Director - Design Hub (DH) - Patient & Site Experience (PSE) is responsible for leading the strategy for a variety of aspects within our clinical programs which may include site training, patient enrollment (recruitment & retention), and/or patient & researcher engagement (insights, education, and feedback). The Associate Director will have assigned area(s) of focus within the DH PSE team (Training, Study Participation, CoDesign, and/or Digital Communications & Engagement). This role is responsible for delivering in alignment with clinical and functional counterparts to incorporate different strategies to gain efficiencies and speed.

Deliver strategy for clinical programs where the voice of the patient and researchers are represented

The Associate Director will:

  • lead the creation of the strategy for the assigned area(s) of focus of site training, patient enrollment (recruitment & retention), and/or patient & researcher engagement (insights, education, and feedback).

  • partner with appropriate Clinical Design Delivery & Analytics (CDDA) functions to determine the best strategic direction for each clinical program.

  • facilitate the creation of the appropriate deliverables (e.g., training, educational materials) with the functional content owners and/or vendors.

  • understand specific capabilities and access points for key platforms and systems that should be built into the strategy for each clinical program based upon the assigned area(s) of focus

Ensure continuous improvement by understanding the external needs and challenges of patients and researchers in addition to the internal needs and challenges of our clinical programs

The Associate Director will:

  • contribute to a culture of partnership and shared learning across the DH and broader CDDA to identify best practices and standardized approaches to processes.

  • work closely with DH PSE team members to continue to evolve internal standards, processes, tools, and best practices.

  • continuously assess and evaluate evolving business partner needs that could be addressed by process improvements, standardization, or automation.

Contribute to a team culture that is valued for strategic and technical leadership

The Associate Director will:

  • provide strategic and technical leadership to ensure that processes for the assigned area(s) of focus are well integrated within the appropriate CDDA functions

  • apply strategic and technical expertise to deliver right-sized strategies that can be successfully implemented in our clinical programs.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in scientific or health related field or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in pharmaceutical industry

Other Information/Additional Preferences:

  • Broad understanding of the pharmaceutical drug/device development process

  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and deliver to timelines

  • Demonstrated strategic and critical thinking skills

  • Strong interpersonal and excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational and negotiation skills

  • Prior experience in managing complex/cross-functional projects

  • Cork -based role

  • Minimal travel required
