Nexus is a program that is managing the modernizing of our existing SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system with SAP’s S/4HANA. This is the application that the company’s Supply Chain, Manufacturing & Finance operations will run their business processes on. The program will deliver a global, modern single instance enhanced SAP experience which will provide a more intelligent way to power business performance.
The Integrated Services (IS) and Information and Digital Solutions (IDS) teams manage the system and business process implementations of complex projects related to the Lilly single global instance of SAP, as well as other systems and processes that connect to SAP. These teams support all business units and divisions of the corporation. Projects have historically included the integration of new plant sites, changes related to logistics, acquisitions, divestitures, system upgrades, and integration of new technology for purpose of automation or meeting external requirements. Team members include system design associates, system integrators, subject matter experts, master data experts, and other support roles who help manage the end-to-end integration. This group also provides routine system production support and master data governance.
As a member of the Nexus Global Transition team, this role will project manage Valuation and Control (V&C) activities, supporting the joint IS and IDS implementation of SAP S/4 HANA. Once implemented, this system will replace our entire current SAP ECC platform, and address any necessary integration impacts to all supplemental operating systems. The role will be responsible for all aspects of project management, including the assurance of alignment with the other Nexus workstreams. The role will report to the Nexus PMO Lead, while directly supporting the IS & IDC Implementation teams.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensure the execution of the assigned portfolio of programs and/or projects within the V&C workstream at the Global, Regional, and Local levels.
Provide significant insights into project progression, flexible and repeatable processes, standards and tools; critical chain and agile services to our business partners that are fit for purpose.
Clearly define effective and efficient large, multi-year program management practices to be utilized by the teams, and the processes that focus on integrating and managing program activity to achieve program goals.
Optimize processes for scope, time, cost, and quality, and work with the V&C Implementation leaders to develop action plans to achieve objectives
Articulate the value of the program and ensure alignment between business partners, the implementation teams, and vendors to ensure program strategy is understood by key stakeholders
Participate in the continuous development, improvement, verification, and enforcement of policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines to ensure efficient and effective operational practices
Execute the program plan and workstream portfolio to meet business and IT commitments under significant constraints (resource, organizational, financial, etc.)
Manage program to help tell “the story” through value articulation and metrics reporting
Ensure alignment with other Nexus workstreams to understand, communicate, and act on dependencies. Act as an escalation point for assigned workstream and manage multiple, conflicting priorities
Facilitate and/or participate in team meetings by working with the teams to develop, update, and communicate value and status information to teams and management
3-5 years’ experience leading global programs and projects as a Project Manager
Large multi-year Program Management experience
Multi-vendor and Supplier Management experience
Demonstrated management and leadership of multiple large-scale programs
Demonstrated track record of successful execution of complex Programs and initiatives
This is a global role. Limited travel is expected, but flexibility to work across time zones with people from many cultures is required.
