Lilly Data Analytics Analyst, Internal Auditor in Cork, Ireland

Position Description:

The Data Analytics position will primarily be responsible for creating an agile process of inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modelling data with the goal of discovering useful insights, supporting decision-making, and suggesting improvements to the audit process. The auditor will work with the Internal Audit Data Analytics team to complete the projects, as well as work with 2-8 person audit teams on domestic and global audits designed to test compliance with good internal control practices that align with corporate policies and procedures.

While audits may include finance, ethical conduct (e.g. marketing and sales, medical), and Governance controls, the emphasis of this position is on Data Analytics and standardizing/automating each CAS process.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop Data Analytic tools : Work with Internal Audit team to develop various data analytic tools, including visualization tools that effectively compare audit data across the Company in order to identify riskier audit areas. This will involve working with various sources of data, primarily including SAP data, and using Tableau, SQL, and Sharp to transform and put this data into an analyzable format.

  • Audit Execution : Effectively partner with Lilly personnel for the purpose of identifying control risks relative to current regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Process Ownership : Identify process improvements and work with key stakeholders and team members to ensure that appropriate risks are addressed and that process changes are made in accordance with external guidelines and internal policies and procedures.

  • Communication : Understand critical or unmet needs by actively engaging in ongoing dialogue with auditees, affiliate management, audit team members, and business partners about risks and how Corporate Audit Services evaluates risk.

  • Maximize People : Provide continuous learning and contribute to an atmosphere of teamwork.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Software Engineering or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years experience with SAP, specifically all data tables within SAP, Tableau, SQL, Sharp, Power BI, R, with ability to construct tables, query and manipulate data and, to facilitate the analysis and creation of complex visualizations

  • Remain knowledgeable of cutting-edge machine learning/ big data methods and techniques

  • Passionate about automation and applying scientific methods to solve business requirements

  • Ability to build and maintain a process that includes obtaining design opinions from multiple stakeholders, building and testing prototypes of projects, and working with key stakeholders to make timely updates to the project before deploying into production.

  • Ability to mine data to discover valuable insights on key audit risks, potentially for continuous monitoring or predictive modeling purposes

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills and a strong learning agility

  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Ability and willingness to working independently, and pushing themselves to drive and deliver results.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and work cross-functionally with key audit and business contacts to determine relevant performance metrics that can be incorporated into data analytics projects

  • Qualified candidate must be legally authorized to be employed in Ireland

Additional Preferences:

  • Pharma company experience and risks associated within this industry

  • Experience working with various teams and responsible for developing analytical analysis or other visualization tools.

  • Other software/system knowledge, including but not limited to Concur, Mercury, Veeva etc,

  • Ability to communicate in non-technical terms the benefits and challenges of each data analytics resource/project, as well as progress towards pre-determined deadlines.

  • Both IT, Finance, and audit background, utilizing DA tools

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

This position is located at Cork GBS, Ireland

Travel of up to once a quarter generally EMEA trips - typically wo weeks in duration (including weekend travel).
