The Information Technology (IT) Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting the IT group within commercial Procurement. The overall goal of the specialist position is to own specific sourcing sub-categories and sourcing support activities which allow sourcing associates to increase focus on more complex and strategic sourcing activities. This role plays a key part in our efforts to increase efficiency and value capture by completing operational work to support the Associates as well as identifying ways to automate transnational work. In this capacity, the Specialist will review and approve procurement transactions, review legal terms & conditions on licensing agreements and orders, support procurement processes and projects, and act as sourcing interface with selected business client groups and suppliers. This position will work directly with business partners, Purchase-to-Pay, Legal, Third Party Risk Mgmt, and Supplier Mgmt Offices to carry out responsibilities. As Global Procurement implements new source-to-pay technology, the Specialist will assist in identifying best practices for utilizing the new technology for the associates, business partners, and suppliers. In addition, this role will lead standardization of guided buying processed for IT Globally.
Review and approve Procurement transactions and requests in line with category strategies (Category Management)
Monitor, review and triage procurement transactions (requisitions, purchase orders, and contracts)
Process and approve purchase orders as appropriate and work with associated sourcing associate for areas of responsibility.
Provide Authority to Commit (ATC) for transactions as designated in the category execution rules.
Act as sourcing interface with selected business clients (Account Management)
Provide guidance to business client groups on the strategy and tactics to support the procurement of goods and services
Conduct regular account management to ensure alignment
Support Request For Proposals (RFPs) and bid analysis for supplier selection
Draft, review, negotiate and approve contract renewals and extension documents for selected categories and scopes
Interface with Purchase-to-Pay and Procurement Operations, as required
Assist in identification of diverse suppliers and associated reporting
Act as a subject matter expert for Ariba transactions & PO’s.
Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualifications.
5+ years in similar role.
Demonstrated ability to manage & prioritize multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
Strong initiative to identify improvements and see to completion with minimal oversight
Strong communication skills including written, verbal, collaboration, and interpersonal.
Customer service focus
Knowledge of SAP Ariba is essential.
Demonstrated project management & problem-solving skills
Confidence to work with multiple levels of suppliers and Lilly management
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, & Word
Prior Procurement or P2P experience
Experience and or knowledge of Lilly Information Technology
Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, & Word
Schedule: Monday-Friday, days
