Ethics and Compliance at Eli Lilly

Lilly maintains an effective ethics and compliance programme designed to meet external requirements, guided by the company's values of integrity, excellence, and respect for people. The Ethics and Compliance (E&C) Team is an essential element of the global assurance efforts to drive compliance with Lilly policies, procedures, and local industry code and regulations globally. E&C monitoring is conducted on certain high-risk activities in the affiliates by the local Ethics and Compliance Officers. This role will be the key driving force for centralizing the design, implementation, and management of a global Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption (ABAC) data analytics and monitoring program. This position will report into the Associate Director for Ethics and Compliance Forensic Monitoring and Investigations based in Cork GBS. Training and qualification will be provided by Global Ethics and Compliance function.

In This Role You Will:

  • Develop expertise in global leading practices and standards for implementing an ABAC data analytics and monitoring program that meets external expectations, e.g., Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), UK Bribery Act.

  • Develop expertise in Lilly’s internal ABAC-related policies and procedures.

  • Network and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and subject matter experts globally to understand risks, internal controls, and data analytics capabilities and synergies.

  • Understand external and internal ABAC compliance objectives and articulate complex advanced data analytics requirements that will enable Lilly to prevent and detect potential corruption.

  • Partner with stakeholders and act as our team’s liaison to drive data analytics dashboard and ABAC monitoring program enhancements.

  • Create the ABAC data analytics and monitoring program framework (i.e., risk assessments, processes, SOPs, UAT, documentation, reporting).

  • Analyse dashboard data and deep dive into certain high-risk financial transactions in various systems to evaluate ethical behaviours and compliance.

  • Provide meaningful global metrics, trends, benchmarking insights to leadership and E&C to drive risk awareness throughout Lilly.

  • Resourcefully leverage internal and external resources for program enhancements.

  • Identify gaps and new opportunities for mitigating risk and recommend corrective and preventative actions.

  • Continuously keep up-to-speed with industry trends, issues, standards, and recommendations.

Basic Qualifications and Experience

We’re looking for a passionate and driven professional who is excited to grow their career in ethics and compliance. The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

  • Higher-level qualification in legal, finance, business information systems, risk and compliance, or certified fraud examiner.

  • 5 years of legal, compliance, internal audit, or fraud detection experience with strong exposure to building and executing compliance and monitoring programs in a multinational or a large complex organisation.

  • Ability to analyse and interpret financial data and transactions.

  • Experience with Power BI and Tableau with a strong technical aptitude for Microsoft Office and other systems such as SAP and Concur.

Preferred Experience

  • Pharmaceutical or related healthcare industry experience.

  • Experience with advising on requirements for and utilizing compliance analytics dashboards and reports.

  • “Big Four” risk assurance experience.
