Lilly Training Lead, Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) in Cork, Ireland

Established in 2010 to gain efficiencies in areas such as General Accounting, Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash, the GBS Cork quickly excelled in its financial mandate, allowing the Cork leadership to ask, how can we apply these processes to other areas of the business? And so the GBS we have today was born, still leading in finance, but also evolving and expanding into diverse Business Service functions including Customer Meeting Services, Global HR Data Management, Medical Information ,Procurement, Trial Capabilities, Global Scientific Communications and more to come on stream in 2020/21.

Lilly works with an extensive network of third party organizations to perform a vast range of activities across the enterprise. Known internal risks that impact Lilly such as privacy, information security, compliance, pricing, IT, etc. are amplified or compounded with the use of third parties. Today, third party oversight is decentralized at Lilly. There are many functions working with third parties in some capacity including, but not limited to: Procurement, Third Party Management Organizations (TPMOs), Risk Domain Partners including Audit/Assessment Teams.

The TPRM organization is implementing a holistic program to support consistent, efficient, and effective decision making and residual risk reduction. The central team’s scope encompasses priority business and risk areas across all stages of the third party collaboration lifecycle.

Successful execution of this strategy will reduce third party risk, strengthen capabilities, drive consistency and efficiency, and reduce cost.

The scope of the TPRM hubTeam will include the following:

Create and maintain policies, procedures, and training to drive consistent TPRM for third party use. Liaise with Risk Domain Partners to create and maintain: Risk Definitions, Tolerances, and Required Training for TPMOs, Engagement Owners, and Third Parties. Construct and own the overall TPRM Program. Own the enterprise TPRM technology solution. Provide oversight of the TPRM initial and on-going monitoring due diligence processes. Report progress and results to Senior Leadership including, but not limited to, the CPO, the SVP of Ethics & Compliance, and the Compliance & Enterprise Risk Management Committee (CERMC).


The Training lead will oversee, both directly and indirectly, the training needed by the TPRM Program to enable operational performance. This role will deliver on TPRM training programme, identify training needs & develop and implement effective training programs to meet these needs.


  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of a robust TPRM training programme, tailored to cater for various audiences and stakeholders, including analysis, development, design, implementation and evaluation

  • Continuously develop the TPRM training programme over time to enhance to the highest standard possible and ensuring continuing relevance

  • Identify which blended training solutions are most appropriate to deliver the best impact to learning solutions

  • Create and maintain policies, procedures, and training to drive consistent TPRM for end user use

  • Liaise with TPRM Stakeholders to create and maintain: Risk Definitions and Required Training for TPMOs, Risk Partners, Engagement Owners, and Third Parties

  • Maintain and communicate TPRM procedures and training materials, including facilitating the review/approval process

  • Develop and oversee execution of TPRM program/process training

  • Develop course materials and conduct trainings as appropriate to deliver high quality repeatable training through multiple channels

  • Review compliance in line with training requirements

  • Build and maintain TPRM Training curricula using the Lilly approved learning management system

  • Ensure appropriate training curricula assignment to relevant TPRM team and appropriate functional areas working with global L&D team

  • Partner with relevant stakeholders and team members in a consultative manner to continuously align learning solutions with development needs

  • Coordinate, assess, analyse and report on post-training evaluation scores for all training programs

  • Deliver and facilitate pilots and train-the-trainer sessions, as needed for TPRM Program

  • Plan, design and delivery of training sessions, including ad hoc training, for both new and existing individuals.

  • Ensure that training solutions are designed in a logical, structured and clear manner, reflective of learning objectives and suited to a variety of learning styles

  • Serve as an advocate for training and quality by facilitating regular audience and user research to inform design and determine performance outcomes

  • Develop and maintain a network of relationships with subject matter experts through consistent consultation sessions to identify and prioritize needs

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3+ years Learning / Training experience
