The successful candidate will join a team of highly trained, multi-skilled craftsman that perform tasks in a wide range of mechanical disciplines. We are a highly regulated company that has success by doing the job correctly the first time. The facility rests on 320 acres and over 25 building that contain a wide range of mechanical equipment.
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide troubleshooting, repair and periodic maintenance of boiler systems, water systems, air systems, related equipment and associated facilities support equipment.
Properly perform testing and record keeping
Aptitude to learn the basic principles and operation of water treatment, water generation, air compressors, boilers, electrical distribution, and make the necessary adjustments in the normal operation as well as the emergency procedures related to these services
Follow department standard operating procedures
Maintain the cleanliness of the Power Plant and related areas
Work and communicate effectively with other operators and maintenance staff
Work with basic hand tools
Perform routine maintenance on equipment in the boiler room
Follow Procedures for the handling of hazardous wastes
Maintain a state of Iowa Boiler License
Reading, comprehension and application skills toward a diverse set of complicated tasks
High school diploma/GED
Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.

Demonstrated ability to effectively convey information in an appropriate and effective manner.
Ability to effectively lead, resolve conflict and function as a reliable point of contact specific to the equipment and systems overseen
Perform calculations and conversions involving weights, volumes, and percentages
Demonstrated analytical skill / problem solving skills – identifies problems; recognizes symptoms, causes, and alternative solution.
Knowledge and skill to recognize creative ideas that add value and are able to be implemented to improve efficiency, effectiveness and reduce complexity
Demonstrated understanding of systems, equipment, and processes
Demonstrated ability to set-up and troubleshoot equipment as required
Experience with Windows Operating System.
Complete electronic based Work Orders
Effective and efficient multitasking skills.
Effective time management skills for self and others
Proficient reading, comprehension and application skills toward a diverse set of complicated tasks.
Follow as well as develop detailed instruction
Additional education at vocational technical schools or colleges.
Boiler system experience.
