Responsibilities:

The post-doctoral Process/Analytical Development Scientist will be responsible for: Playing a leadership role in the design of experiments for optimizing the process or the analytical methodology required for pharmaceutical manufacturing ; promoting deep technical excellence and scientific understanding throughout the TS/MS and/or Quality organizations; driving and prioritizing productivity improvements through bench and pilot scale experimentation; ensuring successful technical transfers and providing technical support; partnering and networking with the Indianapolis and PR TS/MS/Quality organizations and the multidisciplinary Process Team to troubleshoot and improve the capability pharmaceutical processes and/or analytical technologies; executing with good documentation and laboratory practices; and promoting and modeling by example compliance to health, safety and environmental regulations.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other parts of the organization and across multiple levels are essential. Flexibility is required to provide technical support and continuity to a 24 hours process operation. Candidate must also be willing to travel.

Basic Qualifications:

Process/Analytical Development Scientist is a fixed term position post-doctoral assignment intended to support technical operations Lilly del Caribe Inc. Drug substance and finished drug product operations located in Carolina, Puerto Rico. The position will provide technical and scientific leadership to support the technical agenda through the design and execution of experiments that exploit the usage of laboratory models, pilot plant equipment, materials characterization and/or analytical technologies for the continuous improvement of manufacturing process.

Education : Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or Bioengineering.

Experience : Research experience relevant to continuous manufacturing, laboratory scale chromatographic, filtration systems and/or analytical technologies is preferred Demonstrated strong scientific and technical knowledge statistical data analysis, technical writing and project management.

Skills : Computer literate, Teamwork oriented, Preferred bilingual (English/Spanish).
