Elanco IT is a dedicated Elanco business unit IT team that implement and support business processes across all value cycles. The North American Commercial IT team supports Companion and Food Animal Sales & Marketing teams.
The primary focus of this Elanco IT role will be to ensure that the Elanco IT capabilities and tools supporting the Commercial processes are deployed, adopted and cultivated within the North American region focusing the majority of time focused on the Swine, Feedyard and Distribution Chain Commercial Business areas. The person in this position will be the primary liaison to the Global Commercial Capabilities team with a focus on our Veeva CRM solution. This role formally reports to the Elanco IT Manager for North America.
IT partner for Food Animal & Distribution Channel as IT Business Integration:
Build relationships and engage with business partners that allow IT to effectively deliver services and new solutions to meet business needs.
Deeply understand business scenarios and capabilities leveraged in the commercial Food Animal & Distribution Channel business areas.
Provide consultation on how to apply technology to identified business scenarios which could range across a number of commercial business process owners.
Advance the business capabilities with proactive proposals on how to create value with the customer or with internal productivity.
Business Process and Requirements
Develop knowledge of business processes for assigned business areas; Consult with business partners and management to provide solutions and information in response to the business needs.
Capture business requirements and partner with internal and external solution providers to determine the best recommendation.
Assess potential applications or apply existing application footprint to the needed scenario.
Global Capabilities Liaison:
Define and monitor the changes to Global tools, assess how those changes will impact the North American business areas.
Adapt global training to deliver local training content
Responsible for the North American IT Training site.
Consulting and ongoing business support
CRM is a major component of sales activities. We deliver the training and consulting to the business including driving new initiatives and leveraging this highly important Veeva CRM tool.
Primary contact for Field Sales Technology Champions, provide on-going training, evaluate and communicate all IT changes to tools, applications, hardware & upgrades.
Follow all company policies and procedures, e.g., GPP established standards (procedure, guidelines, training) and Privacy guidelines; Strong understanding of Quality Standards and Practices or equivalent procedures
Proven track record of building strong business partnerships through the course of working toward common goals. Can drive an agenda in a business facing role.
Proven ability to effectively translate business data and process needs into technical terms across stakeholders and vice versa.
Competency in Sharepoint, Powerpoint or related toolsets to build & deliver training materials
Demonstrated ability to understand, translate and articulate business and technical requirements
Experience working with commercial systems & cloud-based applications such as SFDC
Strong interpersonal skills/team player that has the ability to influence and align at multiple levels
Strong organizational skills/self-management.

Ability to interact directly with business partners to gather technical requirements
General knowledge of Corporate IT processes, particularly Global Infrastructure

Experience with Sales Force and Marketing computer systems.
