The Research External Innovation Associate is a member of the research department’s project management/portfolio and operations team, accountable for support of projects across the research space. Works with key internal customers on harmonization of project management processes, operations initiatives, and tools across teams to deliver solutions that increase the productivity & efficiency across the Research and External Innovation organization.

Position responsibilities

  • Works across REI Operations to identify synergies and recommends ways to harmonize business practices with other organizations

  • Effectively manage cross functional communication, anticipate needs, and work to resolve barriers between teams/units

  • Works closely with REI Director and PM Advisor to ensure seamless management of project cost management and accurate reporting into the REI business plan

  • Work closely with the rest of the operations team and R&D IT to ensure efficient and effective IT platforms exist across REI

  • Ability to create a close working relationship with key internal R&D and regulatory functions

  • Monitor, track, analyze metrics and take appropriate action to communicate, establish lessons learned, and suggest revisions to improve overall productivity

  • Travel (<10%) nationally and internationally

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences, with 3 years in a global pharmaceutical pre-clinical operations or project management environment or PhD in the life sciences with 2+ years’ experience in a global pharmaceutical discovery/pre-clinical environment.
