The Identity and Access Management (IAM) team within our Information Security organization provides critical identity-based services that enable secure, appropriate and timely access to enterprise resources. These services are critical to enabling our global workforce to excel while keeping their information secure.
The Active Directory Engineer role is responsible for maintaining the Active Directory (AD) environment and services. This role is responsible for driving new capabilities and solutions within AD to meet business needs and continuous service improvements. New capabilities that include hosting AD on-premises and in the cloud environments (Azure & AWS) utilized by the company. The role will also drive adoption of automation and influence IaC and desired state configuration solutions across our directory services environments as part of a team. The Active Directory Engineer works with the Solution Architect and the Directory Services Service Manager to define the directory services roadmap for the enterprise. This role also works with our service providers to ensure delivery of a quality service that meets customer needs.
Understand Active Directory technical trends and how those relate or impact our current services
Drive the transition of our AD environment into the Azure and AWS cloud environments as part of a team
Understand requirements and needs of the business through building relationships with customers
Design and lead solutions and new capabilities to meet business needs
Evaluate and lead implementations of solutions for continuous improvements of services and processes
Serve as execution and technical lead to deliver on key initiatives for Active Directory Services
Serve as the Technical Subject Matter Expert for Active Directory Services and serve as an escalation point of incidents and problems
Manage operations to ensure the effective delivery of AD services to the organization including patch management, auditing, and monitoring of the services
Ensure all quality and audit deliverables are met for AD and supporting management tools
5 years of experience with Active Directory Administration

Skill in maintaining directory services (e.g., Microsoft Active Directory)
Skill in operating system administration. (e.g., account maintenance, data backups, maintain system performance, install and configure new hardware/software)
Knowledge with Microsoft System Center Applications (SCOM, SCCM)
Knowledge of auditing and monitoring tools for Active Directory
Experience with Microsoft PowerShell scripting
Skill in diagnosing connectivity problems
Skill in identifying measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system
Ability to lead and influence
Knowledge of cloud computing technologies and emerging computing trends
Knowledge of information technology (IT) security principles and methods (e.g., firewalls, demilitarized zones, encryption)
Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, Dynamic Host Configuration, Domain Name System (DNS), and directory services
Knowledge of service management concepts for networks and related standards (e.g., Information Technology Infrastructure Library, current version [ITIL])
Ability to accurately define incidents, problems, and events in the trouble ticketing system
Ability to develop, update, and/or maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Ability to design capabilities to find solutions to less common and more complex system problems
Skill using Agile Methodology/Framework to design and deliver capabilities
GISF, GSEC, CCSP, CISSP certifications desirable
Microsoft certifications related to active directory environment
AWS and/or Azure cloud certifications desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to deliver clear direction in a complex and ambiguous environment.
Strong teamwork, self-management, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities
