Agile System Services and Support Analyst

Medicines Development Information and Digital Solutions (MD IDS) serves as a strategic function within the Lilly Medicines Development Unit. There are tremendous opportunities in MD IDS as continued investments are made in the transformation associated with next generation of drug development and the goal of Digital Development. This transformation includes moving to an agile organization that embraces information, analytics, process automation, and cybersecurity in the drug R&D enterprise.

The role of MD IDS Agile System Services and Support Analyst plays a critical role in defining and driving operations changes and improvements aligned with MD IDS agility and DevSecOps transformation. As the IDS organization accelerates agile, cloud, software-as-everything, and automated approaches to delivering value, our teams and organization must have the skills, processes, and tools to ensure the most efficient means for developing, deploying, and maintaining assets.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities

  • Engage with teams who are leading efforts to prioritize and creatively transform ways in which Service Management and Delivery teams work more collaboratively, increase competitive value, and continuously seek operational excellence.

  • Explore the capabilities of a Site Reliability Engineer to determine how those capabilities support DevSecOps and fit into our transformation of services management in MD IDS. Help build tools and process to support these capabilities.

  • Propose new, reusable ways to approach delivery and operations of business solutions using emerging Agile/DevSecOps techniques. Take a hands-on technical approach to experiment with Cloud DevSecOps & Automation capabilities that will be incorporated into the future of service management to increase agility, speed delivery, optimize business outcomes, and increase customer and team satisfaction.

  • Lead and facilitate identity access and disaster recovery and resiliency efforts shifting to a cloud perspective.Drive the transition of the identity management onboarding process from centrally managed to distributed responsibility of the support teams.

  • Implement the newly created Critical Application List update process. Ensure alignment with the extended disaster recovery efforts and alignment with CMDB changes.

  • Act as a liaison between the Service Engagement Team and the MD IDS InfoSec Team.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 5+ years of full software lifecycle management, including initiation, design, development, testing, deployment, support, and retirement

  • 2+ years experience with modern software development and operations methods, tools, and practices (ITIL v3/v4, Agile, DevOps, cloud)

  • Have coding experience in at least 1 modern programming language (NodeJS, Python, Java, .Net, etc.).

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

Additional Skills

  • Effective learning agility and demonstrated pursuit/practice of one or more digital development areas (data, insights, user experience, agile, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, cloud)

  • Have coding experience in at least 1 modern programming language (NodeJS, Python, Java, .Net, etc.).

  • Familiar with using GitHub to manage code.

  • Good understanding in DevSecOps including building CI/CD pipeline, automated security scanning, and continuous monitoring.

  • Familiar with using Cloud native applications and microservice to streamline / accelerate operation – AWS and AZURE experiences are a plus.

  • Experience in supporting container-based solutions.

  • Ability to enthusiastically identify and apply creative solutions to changing needs and environments

  • Proven planning, facilitation, and execution skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills

  • Demonstrated teamwork skills, working with diverse individuals across various teams and levels

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills; utilizes experience and knowledge to persuade others in reaching sound decisions
