We are growing! Lilly is on the forefront of cutting-edge research and has established the Lilly Institute of New Genetics Medicine. The Biotechnology Research/ADME-PK group is looking for scientists interested in pioneering novel drug modalities to join us in this effort. We seek dynamic, energetic, collaborative scientists to work on life-changing therapies for patients involving novel complex molecules including DNA and RNA-based technologies. You will have the opportunity to engage with diverse teams in a ‘biotech-like’ manner within the walls of Lilly where innovative ways of thinking are essential to advance these innovative platforms.

Our ADME team works seamlessly across analytical platforms to address the evolving bioanalytical challenges in discovery research. We seek highly motivated and dedicated scientists to join our fast-paced, interdisciplinary team. The successful applicants will have a working understanding of development and validation of bioanalytical methods and studies performed in an industrial setting. The bioanalytical scientist in this role will interact with various project teams as it relates to ADME activities at Lilly. We look forward to seeing your application and having you on our team!

The bioanalytical team supports all modalities including small molecules, oligonucleotides, peptides and biologics, across analytical platforms (e.g., ligand binding, LC-MS, PCR) and spans both discovery and development projects. Together, we ensure the delivery of the bioanalytical results needed to advance the Lilly portfolio.


  • Provide internal bioanalytical support for the portfolio including complex method development and troubleshooting.

  • Address innovative bioanalytical challenges.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with discovery, non-clinical and clinical teams, as appropriate.

  • Interact with internal customers and other partners on bioanalytical issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Bioanalytical Science, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field with at least 1 year of experience performing LC-MS and/or ligand binding assays.

Additional Preferences:

  • LC-MS instrumentation including triple-quadrupole and high resolution mass spectrometry

  • Understanding or experience with LC/MS based sample extraction approaches including protein precipitation, solid-phase extraction, and immunoprecipitation.

  • Understanding or experience with LC/MS based digestion procedures for peptides and proteins.

  • 5 years of relevant experience in industry setting with strong work planning, record keeping, and data analysis skills.

  • Hands-on laboratory experience with large molecule bioanalytical methods/assays including:

  • Experience in large molecule bioanalytical analysis including implementation of new techniques and troubleshooting assays.

  • LC-MS sample analysis workflows for peptide, protein, and oligonucleotide analysis

  • Immunoprecipitation methods

  • Ligand binding platforms such as ELISA, MSD, Gyros, Singulex

  • Immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization method development

  • Immunoassay/ADA method development

  • Background in/experience with molecular biology techniques such as qRT-PCR

  • Familiarity with related systems and applications (LIMS, regression analysis, basic statistics, pharmacokinetic analysis)

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative

  • Proficient written and spoken English language skills including effective verbal communication
