The Diabetes landscape is rapidly evolving, requiring different approaches to engage our customers, helping them be successful with our medicines. We need to move beyond the delivery of medicine to find ways to integrate technology and health in ways which can personalize diabetes treatment approaches in a more insightful manner.

The Lilly Diabetes’ Connected Care portfolio aims to resolve many of the existing barriers which lead to suboptimal care in diabetes through providing personal insights, recommendations, and behavioral modification though the use of technology. The portfolio contains several product innovations in the hardware, software, and data analytics fields creating a need to understand deeply the desired customer experience for the entire ecosystem as well as the individual parts.

The complexity of the portfolio and the OUS market dynamics require the global team to provide strong support and expertise to the affiliates in building capabilities and setting the foundations for this new vision. It also requires oversight from the team on the go-to-market strategies and alignments across affiliates to ensure consistency and efficiencies.

As part of the OUS Connected Care “launch excellence hub”, the Associate Brand Manager will own the development of long-term strategies for major OUS affiliates, identify capabilities to be built and environmental shaping activities to be developed, to ensure long-term success of affiliates connected care business.

Product marketing :

  • Be the subject matter expert for Lilly’s Connected Care products and the point of contact for the OUS affiliates for product related issues

  • Put in place a feedback loop process to collect unmet needs from OUS affiliates on the Lilly Connected Care products, prioritize those needs and inform the development teams for future product iterations, in collaboration with the OUS strategy manager and brand team

  • Accountable for the understanding of the marketing, medical, customer support, manufacturing, GPORWE, legal, privacy and regulatory needs and translating them into a launch plan to deliver the desired experience (including pilot and full scale).

  • Work closely with the development team, regulatory and affiliates to define product scopes and to develop the optimal OUS product roadmap for both open and closed loop

  • Partner with the Global Brand team on the Customer plan and Brand Plan to capture competitive dynamics and address affiliate needs

  • Put together and disseminate best practices for product use based on initial feedback for early users (including US users), for both patients and physician. Integrate best practices into educational material

  • Support regulatory and product safety on the development of product corrective actions

  • Collaborate with Global Medical Education and Connected Care Global Marketing to develop an internal education platform on Lilly’s and non-Lilly Connected Care products for the affiliates. Evaluate the need to organize a “Global Connected Care” forum

  • Support the development of product related content for the external education and customer support programs in the affiliates, including training material, Q&As and troubleshooting aids for OUS affiliates

  • Partner with the brand team, the IBU and affiliates in the development and adaptation of the educational material to meet affiliate needs and constraints

Product Launch readiness

  • Own the launch of the Integrated Insulin Management System in prioritized markets

  • Partner with the medical team to create a master launch road map that identifies key milestones, highlights contribution work from functional partners & monitors and measures progress towards launch

  • Ensure clarity on pilots’ objectives and set-up the pilots to be consistent with the objectives

  • Develop a launch excellence framework to optimize product launches and iterations

  • Develop an OUS launch tracking dashboard including KPIs, in close collaboration with OUS and Global strategy manager, IBU and brand team

  • Report OUS launch progress through governance

Customer experience

  • Partner with the broader Global Connected Care and Insulin team to understand how to deliver the desired customer experience across our customers (HCPs, Payers and Patients)

  • Work with the affiliates to adapt the Global customer experience map and coordinate the implementation in collaboration with the Customer Support Program team

  • Work cross-functionally to determine best distribution strategy, including channel strategy (direct, pharmacy, e-commerce, etc) and kitting strategy

  • Team-up with the IBU and support functions to organize needed workshops at Global and affiliate levels to ensure successful launch

OUS Competitive Intelligence and Market Research

  • Understand market dynamics in regards to Connected Care products

  • Understand and monitor competitor’s offering. Put together a detailed and up to date side by side comparison to understand strengths and weaknesses. Team up with the PRA team to fully understand competitor’s prices and business models

  • Team up with the market research team and the brand team to address the “I wish I knew” product related questions and understand customer behaviors

  • Attend key conferences to gather scientific information, product trends, and competitive info

  • Coordinate with the Global Connected Care team

  • Other experiences that enabled direct interaction with customers, especially HCPs (e.g. sales experience)

  • Previous brand development experience

  • Previous customer support program experience

  • High degree of marketing competence as well as demonstrated flexibility to work effectively within alliance

  • Demonstrated ability to develop comprehensive strategies to address business opportunities

  • Demonstrated collaboration with cross-functional partners such as regulatory or medical
