The purpose of the Project Manager (PM) role is to develop, monitor, and control integrated scope, timelines, budgets, risk management plans, and communication plans. In addition, the PM leads communication of the results of these processes to customers, stakeholders, partners, and leadership, and translates results into actionable options/scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Independently manages the project plan for SIC Team.

  • Provides input on strategy for implementing the project plan, and developing realistic project milestones and deliverables

  • Secures leadership alignment after major modifications in scope, resources or timeline.

  • Drive the application and integration of key project management processes and tools across teams and /or subsets of teams to deliver projects with quality, on time, on budget, and within scope

  • Ensure the needs of SIC are captured into a single integrated plan

  • Facilitate and enable delivery of integrated plan deliverables in alignment with the global and local strategy and plan (including oversight and tracking of direct and indirect resourcing)

  • Ensure quality and organizational excellence of the assigned team; supporting performance of cross functional / corporate processes, alliance management, affiliate/global relationships and influencing team culture

  • Effectively manage cross-functional communications, anticipate and resolve issues with the team, ensure documentation of key information and decisions, and ensure project management systems are up to date

  • Develops and maintains up-to-date project plan timelines

  • Monitors and reports performance to both plan and drives team when plan is not being achieved

  • Drives operations meetings or other appropriate forum to prospectively manage upcoming team-related activities, key milestones, and decisions, as well as to proactively identify updates to project plans.

  • Manages content and format for all SIC/SDAP collaboration sites. Responsible for Protect Lilly compliance on all red collaboration sites as well as roster reviews.

Communication and Team Management

  • Influences and works with a quality mindset across the team by documenting key decisions, actions, and key modifications in scope, resources and timeline; ensuring accurate collection and communication of metrics throughout projects

  • Ensures coordination of meeting logistics and provision of timely meeting agendas and meeting minutes;

  • Builds and maintains effective project teams even in the absence of direct reports; motivate, recognize, coach & mentor team members and associates.

  • Effectively and reliably communicates and influences upward in the organization (i.e., above manager level) by providing clear and concise information to enable decision-making by team and governance.

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Four-year degree – Higher degrees or certifications (e.g., M.S. M.A., MBA, Certified Project Manager, PM) would be beneficial.

  • Consistent demonstration of the performance management leadership behaviors relevant to an associate consultant level role.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to communicate clearly and succinctly with team members.

  • Strong problem-solving skills; able to recognize problems before they become serious and take corrective action.

  • Excellent self-management and organizational skills are essential; able to manage workload and adjust personal priorities, as needed based on guidance from supervision.

  • Effective teamwork skills; able to adapt to diverse interpersonal styles

  • Flexibility to adjust quickly and effectively to frequent change and altered priorities

  • Applied knowledge of project management tools and processes (e.g. management of integration scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurement as defined by Project Management Body of Knowledge)

  • Strong computer skills; skilled at using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project

  • Previous experience with or knowledge of drug development processes in specific therapeutic area(s) is a plus but not necessary.
