Position Brand Description:

This role provides operational and analytical support to the process of providing discounted pricing to contract and government customers as well as discounts and rebates to Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs). The Chargeback and GPO Associate works within the US Affiliate’s Contract Administration team (part of Lilly Value and Access) and reports to the Associate Director of Contract Administration for the Chargebacks team.

In order to perform this role, the Chargeback and GPO Associate must be able to combine the ability to understand and influence the contracting dimensions of Lilly Value and Access (LVA) with the quantitative abilities and attention to detail required to analyze trends and generate complex payments. This associate will be challenged to use multiple data sources to verify individual payments, evaluate broader trends, drive Contract Administration’s response to the increasingly complex business dynamics, and identify additional opportunities of value creation or maintenance in Contract Administration.

Analytical skills, attention to detail, customer service orientation and strong communication skills are critical in developing and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external customers. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and stress tolerant, with demonstrated skills in collaboration/teamwork, influence, compliance, judgment, time management, solving problems and building trust.

The associate must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills and be proficient in the use of analytical tools to ensure contracts are performing as expected, identify sources of fluctuations, and resolve issues as needed.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

Process daily chargeback payments to wholesalers; manage assigned workload in payment system. Identify, research and resolve errors as appropriate. Deliver accurate and on-time GPO admin fee and rebate payments. Proactively monitor and investigate purchasing trends and analytics. Leverage a data rich environment to explore additional opportunities to detect duplicate discounts and support business initiatives. Continuously seek opportunities to improve Lilly’s people, systems and processes. Identify, test, measure, codify and share key learnings by following predefined processes, identifying opportunities and implementing improvements with a goal of improving efficiencies and customer equity. Ad-Hoc Projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Flexibility in responding to changing business needs and willingness to challenge conventional thinking.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably an analytical degree that emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving (e.g., Business, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Mathematics, IT

Additional Skills / Requirements:

  • 2+ years of pricing, reimbursement, and access experience

  • Strong understanding of commercial and public payer customers and the healthcare ecosystem

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects that impact multiple brands and stakeholders

  • Ability to influence across teams and effectively drive decision-making

  • Ability to “simplify the complex” and communicate the essence to broad set of stakeholders
