We're looking to add to our procurement team. Are you skilled procurement of media in a global market? The Associate Director-Media Procurement will perform as a trusted internal business partner to Lilly Media team, to secure the highest quality Media services and most value for the budget invested. This role will be the category owner responsible for key media related services for Consumer and HCP media, in addition to other categories as needed. You will collaborate with internal clients to grasp their business requirements, forecasted expenditure, and market dynamics to develop or sustain a sourcing strategy for the Media spend category or particular necessity. This entails clarifying the purchasing specifications, researching and recommending qualified suppliers, facilitating a data-driven selection process, planning and implementing negotiation strategies, executing contracts, handling supplier relationships, and coordinating supplier risk management. In this role, you will also be responsible for analyzing spend, forecasting future needs, expertise in the media supply chain and developing improvements to the category strategies to increase future value and reduce risk exposure. The Associate Director will liaise with the financial organization and the US Affiliate/ Global Media team to facilitate implementation and performance management of the agreements. Additionally, this position will seek methods to provide Lilly with a competitive edge through our media or media-related supply base and enhance our backing of diverse enterprises.

Position Responsibilities:

  • build and maintain supplier category expertise

  • develop strong working relationships with internal teams and leaders

  • understand requirements and refining specifications for business needs

  • develop and implement spend category strategies and purchase transaction models

  • lead data-driven decision making processes applying the Lilly Strategic Sourcing Model

  • planning and driving contract negotiations

  • segment the media supply chain to comprehend the operational process flow and identify areas for improvement

  • partner with finance and media teams on contract implementation, supplier performance and relationship management.

  • adhere to all procurement and corporate policies and procedures, as well as influence the enhancement of tools and processes to boost employee productivity and user experience.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Business or Technical).

  • 5 + Years experience in Media/ Marketing Procurement or related marketing/ procurement experience

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

Preferences:

  • MBA is a plus.

  • Procurement / Professional Sourcing experience

  • Excellent client management/business partnering

  • Project management skills to handle capacity and diversity of projects

  • Strong business acumen, strategic analysis and planning, communication and influence skills

  • Transferable skills for preparation and execution of commercial and internal client negotiations (i.e., analytical skills, strategy planning, critical thinking, detailed process planning, and execution)

  • Ability to constructively and professionally handle conflict, push back or maintain ground with internal clients and/or external suppliers.

  • Navigate change in the organization including identifying challenges/solutions to implementing process improvements

  • Self-starter, passion for constant improvement, high learning agility, ability to influence at all levels without direct authority
