As the epicenter of breakthrough conversations, LMS StoryLab at Lilly fuses human-centric insights, data, a customer-centric approach, and insightful creativity to cultivate authentic connections between our suite of product brands and the people we aim to serve through strategic storytelling. You will play a key role in shaping and living the vision for this boutique-style storytelling squad. Powered by purpose, this dedicated and mighty group brings a steadfast passion for creating brand-inspired storytelling experiences that help people live a better life.

As an Associate Director of Account Strategy , you are the day-to-day champion for our key client product brand(s). Equal parts’ strategist, problem solver, analyzer, communicator, trusted consultant, influencer, and connector, you’ll cultivate cross-functional strategic collaboration to deliver experiences that distinguish our product brands through industry-leading storytelling solutions. From strategic framing and campaign briefing to concept shaping and integration, you will orchestrate collaboration within a cross-disciplinary team of creative, content, production, and digital subject matter experts to shape breakthrough, customer-centric storytelling that brings our client brands’ narratives to life to engage our customers at every step.

Key Objectives/Deliverables: What You’ll Do

  • Practice and promote a people-first perspective.

  • Champion a culture of passion, insightful creativity, integrity, trust, agility, inclusion, collaboration, and cohesiveness.

  • Cultivate partnership with the client brand team(s), serving as the primary relationship owner with a keen understanding of the vision, strategy, objectives, and target customer(s) to ensure the creative and content strategy is positioned to help solve unique and complex customer and business problems.

  • Lead assigned client product brands’ storytelling strategy, partnering closely with teammates to bring concepts from ideation to production within StoryLab’s blueprint.

  • Champion the brand strategy, ensuring that consumer insights, data, and core message pillars are pulled through to drive brands’ key business objectives.

  • Lead the development of creative briefs used to inform creative and content teams on the goal, objective, and direction of the storytelling experience.

  • Proactively identify project gaps and opportunities, including evaluation of the success and failure of initiatives, leading plans for course correction and/or continual success as needed to create and optimize a unified content, creative, and delivery strategy.

  • Partner with Project Management team to ensure workstreams are achieved on time, on budget, and on strategy.

  • Serve as the “go-to” expert and primary liaison on navigating cross-functional processes, procedures, and internal and external partners.

  • Cultivate an agile mentality, working closely with your teammates, brand clients, and operations, to prioritize and run multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Mentor and coach associate project managers/owners/coordinators on standard processes, promoting timely and cohesive delivery of campaign(s).

  • Challenge and advance work when needed, while ensuring tactics are within existing brand guidelines and medical, legal, and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accountability for budgets and planning for assigned client brands.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field.

  • 5+ years consumer marketing experience. Agency experience a plus.

  • Experience leading digital projects which may include digital strategy, customer experience, creative development, social media, website, and content production.

  • Skilled at identifying, evaluating, and testing opportunities to optimize in-market performance.

  • Meticulous with a problem-solving mentality.

  • Willingness to challenge the status quo while confirming compliance.

  • Agency experience, internal or external, a plus.
