For more than 140 years, Eli Lilly and Company has been dedicated to the discovery and development of medicines to address the health care needs of people around the world. Driven by the broader, consumer-focused digital revolution and in anticipation of this same revolution in health care, Lilly is now further expanding the definition of product to include the design, build, integration and orchestration of digitally enabled health care interactions and has established the Connected Care Business Unit to accomplish these goals in the Diabetes category. More specifically, we are interested in using digital technologies to improve the health outcomes of those using our products, including (1) Hardware and digital solutions that can be incorporated into our consumer products; (2) Tools for engaging HCP customers in their workflow; (3) digital health services and care team platforms and (4) population management tools. Coupling our medicines, devices, and digital solutions with consumer health solutions and health systems, we believe we can partner with providers and payers to enable significant improvements in healthy outcomes for our customers.

To be successful, a robust operational plan must be established including integrated planning processes for Customer Council and Business Planning, launch excellence for the US Connected Care Platform, and agile deployment of digital customer solutions. Additionally, we must drive the Connected Care brand strategy forward to reach a broad base of customers and enhance our capabilities to reach and support our customers on the evolving Connected Care Platform.

Position Responsibilities :

The Associate Director of US Connected Care Marketing Strategy and Operations will report to the Sr. Director of Marketing Strategy and Operations and plays a critical role in the launch and strategic direction of Lilly's Connected Care Pen Platform in the US. Lilly is currently launching in select markets with v1.0 of the Platform and will expand nationally in 2023. This role will lead planning for the National Launch and for future platform releases, including Launch Execution Planning and other launch readiness workstreams. The Associate Director will also partner with Market Research and Data and Insights to communicate ongoing launch progress and develop the Brand Health Scorecard. Importantly, this role will lead Customer Planning and Business Planning for the Connected Care Pen Platform, including integration with other US brands and Lilly's Connected Care Pump.

This role requires proficiency in marketing competencies including Market Understanding; Insights, Analysis and Synthesis; Brand Strategy and Planning; and Customer Experience and Measurement. The Associate Director will gain experience in Marketing Mix Execution and Optimization. Exposure to Data and Analytics will be high, and Lilly's Connected Care Team's use of Digital Channels will grow over time.

The successful candidate will be obsessed with delivering exceptional customer experiences, is comfortable with adjusting scope, ongoing prioritization and has a strong Team Lilly approach.

Core Job Responsibilities

US Connected Care Planning and Operations (40%)

  • Enable operational efficiency by establishing timelines and deliverables for enterprise-wide activities including Strategic Planning, Business Planning, and Budgeting

  • Manage quarterly budgets and operating expenses

  • Implement internal communication tactics and campaigns as needed

US Connected Care Strategy & Customer Planning (30%)

  • Lead Strategic Projects to enable achievement of our Customer Roadmap

  • Identify new capabilities required to succeed in the US marketplace

  • Lead planning and execution of US Customer Plan timeline

  • Assess necessary Customer Plan integration points and drive alignment across brand teams

  • Actively partner with the Lilly Marketing Institute to share best practices and implement process improvements across business units

  • Lead Customer Council implementation

  • Serve as the central point of contact for Lilly's Connected Care Global Brand Plan, US Customer Planning and Customer Council (i.e. Lilly's annual brand planning process)

Launch Excellence (30%)

  • Lead cross-channel tactic planning and coordination in collaboration with Agency of Record, Lilly Marketing Studios, and Marketing Ops; lead Launch Execution Planning for iterative launch cycles

  • Lead Key Content / Modular Content development and evolution

  • Lead US commercial deployment of Lilly's Connected Care Pen Platform and associated products

  • Coordinate with key cross-functional partners including US Connected Care Brand, Product Development, and other cross-functional partners to refine product roadmap

  • Partner with Data & Insights platform team and Sales Operations to establish progress reporting for US Connected Care Platform brand performance

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2 years of industry and/or marketing experience or Lilly Marketing Academy

  • MBA with 1 year of industry experience or Lilly Marketing Academy

  • Experience in US affiliate marketing materials approval processes (PCA, FCAP, CIQ)

  • Sales and/or experience engaging with external customers

  • U.S. launch experience

  • Finance, digital health, technical, field integration, project management, and/or software launch background preferred

  • Excellent self-management and organizational skills are required. Must be able to manage working with a large number of different teams/organizations with varying styles, issues, and complexity and to independently manage workload and adjust priorities as needed.

  • Ability to influence others, to appropriately network across a wide variety of functional components. Must be able to partner across broad business partners and work effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Strong computer skills; skilled at using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
