Pharmaceutical Project Management (PPM) provides proactive cross-functional leadership for drug development, translating and executing the strategy for delivering a medicine to patients. The PPM serves as the central hub and integration point of the drug development core team working closely with individuals from many functions including but not limited to clinical, Chemistry/Manufacturing/Control (CMC), toxicology, ADME, regulatory, health outcomes, legal, discovery and marketing. You will use project management tools and skills to impact the drug development strategy and execution for a project/project(s) in Lilly’s portfolio through the project timeline, scope, budget and risk to enable decision-making for senior leadership.

As a pharma project manager, you will have responsibility in the following areas:

  • Facilitate and Support Asset Strategy and Delivery through Project Management Tools and Processes including:

  • Scope Management

  • Schedule Management

  • Communication Management

  • Cost Management

  • Project Management Tools/IT Management

  • Risk Management

  • Application/Improvement of Processes (Shared Learning)

  • You will play a leadership role as a resource to the business with regard to shared learning, process improvement, and identification of special/complex needs as they pertain to their primary responsibilities.

  • People

  • Reach agreement with supervisor on the alignment of the performance and development goals with the objectives of the department and the corporate business priorities

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Previous experience with or knowledge of drug development processes

  • Higher degrees or certifications (e.g. MS., MBA, Masters in Project Management or PMP).

  • Experience with application of critical chain project management principles.

  • Applied knowledge of project management tools and processes (e.g. management of integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, procurement, and stakeholders as defined by Project Management Body of Knowledge).

  • Strong computer skills; skilled at using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and capable of maintaining the appropriate project documentation in SAP.

  • Practical experience performing project management for a cross-functional project.

Additional Information:

  • This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Pharm. D or

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree preferably in a health-related, scientific or engineering field with preferred work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, drug development, and/or project management role
