The Tailored Therapeutics-Neuroscience (TTx-NS) team is looking for a dedicated biologist who is passionate about science. The goal of our team is to apply disease or target biology knowledge to develop and deliver neuroscience portfolio-supporting biomarkers. The utility of these biomarkers includes proof of target engagement, pharmacodynamics, disease stage/progression or patient selection. To achieve the objectives of TTx-NS, you will work collaboratively within the team as well as with cross-functional groups such as neuroscience discovery project teams, bioproduct research and development, clinical pharmacology and toxicology. Some of your responsibilities in this role might include:
Develop an understanding of the biology associated with neuro-degeneration and pain via scientific research, scientific literature, external data sources or generating new data with patient samples.
Implement assays in support of Neuroscience Translational Working group-endorsed biomarker strategy.
Develop and validate novel biomarker assays internally or through external CROs.
Tackle technical issues/problems to advance projects.
Analyze and report data using Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism and related software.
Prepare written data reports and presentations.
Maintain notebook entries to protect Lilly’s intellectual property and practice principles of good research practice.
Desire to develop knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases and associated pathophysiology such as neuro-inflammatory processes
Technical analytical skills with relevance to biochemistry research and analytical assay development.
Experience with biochemistry related lab skills, protein purification, dialysis, ligand-binding assays (such as ELISA), western blotting, or molecular biology techniques such as qPCR
Basic understanding of statistical analyses
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills
Self-motivation and flexibility are required to succeed
Preferred experience with basic cell culture techniques for transformed cell lines and primary cell cultures, principles of pharmacology, understanding of functional genomics techniques, and basic knowledge/experience with laboratory robotics, instrumentation and programming

B.S. or M.S. degree in Biology, Bioanalytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or related discipline.
