Medicine Development (MD) Information & Digital Services (IDS) leads with Lilly Development to create best-in-class, first-in-class medicines in the digital era. We create competitive value through collaborative and creative delivery of strategic technology capabilities –Automation, Insights, and Experiences –that power the Lilly pipeline.​ The Information Hub (Lilly's central data platform) specifically creates competitive value through the delivery of information as a strategic asset that supports Lilly development pipeline decisions and insights. We deliver on this value through project work that enables data usage and business functionality.

This position will report to the Manager – MD IDS, Information Hub


  • Perform impact analysis to translate and implement technical design from business requirements.

  • Develop custom software, perform code reviews, evaluate and recommend various software design patterns. Manage expectations and development activities with software vendors for project deliverables.

  • Exhibit technical expertise and partner with technical leaders on critical activities to achieve business outcomes. Ensure technical designs align with architecture guidance from Information Architect and adhere to data platform standards.

  • Effectively demonstrate learning agility to use and develop business process knowledge. Define how the technology will be designed to enable and/or improve the business process. Use skills and experience to influence solution direction and future releases.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent IT-Analyst experience

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, AWS Compute & Data Technologies i.e. - Lambda,RDS, Glue, API Gateway, Athena, IAM, CloudFormation.

  • Experience with development and analysis languages such as such as Python, Node.js,PL/SQL, Java

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position


  • Experience with software development life cycle, spanning the lifecycle from project initiation to deployment, support, and retirement

  • Experience in the development of technology solutions for a business area, with emphasis on the technical/data/application development and implementation

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services, AWS Compute & Data Technologies i.e. - Lambda, RDS, Glue, API Gateway, Athena, IAM, CloudFormation.

  • Experience with development and analysis languages such as such as Python, Node.js, PL/SQL, Java

  • Strong experience with backend development, familiarity in creating and consuming REST APIs.

  • Experience with any SPA Frontend Frameworks (Vue, React, Angular)

  • Hands on experience with database technologies and tools (for example Oracle, PostgreSQL, Redshift, DynamoDB, Cassandra, SQL, ETL tools)

  • Experience with tools such as GitHub, JIRA, Postman or similar API tool, Confluence, OpenShift/Containers, Slack, JIRA, Chef, Jenkins

  • Experience with agile and adaptive methods and technologies

  • Passion for technology and innovation.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability and curiosity for business processes understanding. Experience in translating business needs into project requirements

  • Strong teamwork, self-management, problem-solving abilities. Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment.

  • Position is located at Lilly Corporate Center in Indianapolis, IN

  • Occasional travel may be required
