The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Services team within our Information Security organization provides critical identity-based services that enable secure, appropriate and timely access to enterprise resources. These services are critical to enabling our global workforce to excel while keeping their information secure.
The Cloud Identity & Automation Engineer role will be responsible for technical leadership in the design and support of our transformation to embrace cloud-based services and technologies. This role will work as part of a team to deliver modernized hosting solutions and integrate them with more traditional services like Active Directory Domain Services. Primary focus will be to deliver modernized hosting models within Lilly’s cloud hosting providers (Azure/AWS). This role will have the opportunity to influence a range of foundational IAM services and be a thought leader in the evolution of modernization and automation..
This role must possess deep technical understanding of Cloud Service Provider technologies and capabilities.
Design and deliver native cloud-based IaaS services to support traditional Identity based workloads
Understand technical enhancements and keep abreast of cloud hosting provider trends
Evaluate and lead key initiatives, including implementation of capabilities and continuous improvement opportunities for Access and Authentication services
Understand requirements and needs of the business through building relationships with users
Lead resolution of complex technical issues escalated from our Identity and Access Management team
Provide technical leadership for external vendor resources supporting these services
Develop reporting mechanisms for metrics as they relate to these services
Help ensure services have controlled processes and procedures for the installation, qualification or validation, and support of hardware and software that meet Lilly’s Quality Practice requirements, standards, and policies
Collaborate with other service areas to gain comprehensive knowledge of infrastructure and integration points (SharePoint Online/Teams, Exchange online, mobility, client, platform services, external collaboration services)
Bachelor of Science degree
3+ years of work experience with Cloud IaaS providers (Azure and/or AWS)
2+ years of work experience with Active Directory

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to provide clear direction in a complex and ambiguous environment
Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends
Knowledge of information technology (IT) security principles and methods (e.g., firewalls, demilitarized zones, encryption)
Knowledge of network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of defense-in-depth)
Working knowledge of PowerShell, Python, ARM templates, Git, JSON
Strong teamwork, self-management, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities
Ability to design capabilities to find solutions to less common and more complex system problems
Skill in developing or recommending analytic approaches or solutions to problems and situations for which information is incomplete or for which no precedent exists
Ability to accurately define incidents, problems, and events in the trouble ticketing system
Ability to develop, update, and/or maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Skill using Agile Methodology/Framework to design and deliver capabilities
CISSP-ISSAP/ISSEP, CEH, CCSP, CCNP certifications
AWS and/or Azure cloud certifications desirable
Able to work a flexible schedule in order to collaborate with global business area partners and coordinate with co-workers and operational staff in the U.S. and Asia Pacific region
