Lilly Hosting and Cloud Services (HCS) runs the IT Infrastructure Hosting and IaaS Cloud technologies across the enterprise. This spans from our Global Enterprise Cloud Foundation, IaaS offering, Data Centers, through our Storage/Backups, Disaster Recovery, Server Virtualization and Server Operating Systems. Your role will include partnering and leading with other HCS Engineers to develop our Cloud Resiliency infra improvements including moving to Cloud based DR, Automated recovery, Air gapped restore environment, cyber protected backup vault, and improvements to cloud based recovery designs while ensuring the designs meet Lilly Technical, Security and Quality standards. In this capacity it is critical that you have deep technical and communication skills and enjoy educating and guiding others on the team, within IT about our Cloud Resilient solutions. In this role you will initially work with the Director of Hosting and Cloud Services and over time may become part of our Infrastructure foundation team.
The focus for this role will be to partner with Architects and Engineers across all Business IT in the following areas:
Design and implement of a Cloud and Cyber Resilient Infrastructure Foundation.
Partner with Disaster Planning SME and Backup Engineers to integrate into Data protection strategy
Partner with Cloud Foundation and IaaS Engineers to integrate into Public Cloud IaaS strategy
Promote and educate the Lilly community on Cloud and Cyber Resiliency, Operating Guidelines/Principles, and Services/Solutions
Develop Cloud & Cyber Resiliency strategy and lead first phase of improvement over next 12-18 months
Actively build and stay abreast of emerging technology directions, work with lead team to guide the organization on how to interpret and best leverage emerging technologies.
Design and partner with HCS development teams to develop automated, manageable, secure, compliant, highly available, highly reliable and fault-tolerant solutions
Responsible for the integration of production monitoring for availability, performance, and security.
Bachelor’s degree or High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years working in an infrastructure role or with transferable skills and experiences
Minimum 2+ years of experience in developing, implementing, or supporting infrastructure or cloud solutions
Experience in global enterprise infrastructure solutions, partnering with service development teams to build services and transitioning completed services to service operations

Advanced Experience with public and private cloud services including AWS and Azure
High learning agility to keep up with ever changing business needs.
Demonstrable high level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective and innovation interest.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex technical topics to a non-technical audience (including senior leadership).
Ability to influence peers and senior leadership regarding strategic direction and decisions.
Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decide and influence appropriate courses of action.
Experience working with Quality, Compliance and documentation standards; working in audit situations and knowledge of CAS and their processes.
Exposure to SaaS, IaaS & PaaS Vendors and concepts
Experience in systems development including Agile and Iterative development methodologies
Effective analytical, problem solving and investigative skills
Ability to act as change agent and to take ownership of issues or opportunities until a proper solution is implemented
Capacity to dive into implementation details in problem-solving mode when appropriate
Work effectively across a global organization to ensure multiple delivery streams come together to provide a global capability.
