Lilly Consultant-Human Resources Procurement in Indianapolis, Indiana



This Procurement Consultant position supports Lilly’s Human Resources organization by bringing external solutions to help them meet company objectives. The position will work with HR leadership to develop and execute sourcing strategies in the areas of Employee Benefits including Health, Leave Management, Insurance, Compensation, and Employee Recognition. This will include clarifying business requirements, researching market offerings, and analyzing spend in specific categories. A qualified candidate will identify and negotiate with qualified suppliers to contract for global compensation and benefit related services along with lead on-going supplier relationships. This position reports to the Director of HR Procurement.

  • Interacting with client area management to develop and support a sourcing strategy for third party providers of Lilly Compensation and Benefits and other related services.

  • Working with business client area to identify and support sourcing projects that reduce risk, timeline or cost and make valuable contributions without sacrificing service or quality.

  • Leading sourcing projects including strategy development, market analysis, supplier negotiations, contracting, and relationship management.

  • Coordinate with business partners to lead supplier activities related to any change orders for existing contracts.

  • Developing and maintaining knowledge of dynamics in the meaningful marketplaces.

  • Support internal client area operations to align with Lilly financial and procurement policies and procedures

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry a plus

  • CPM or CPSM certification a plus

  • MBA a plus

  • Experience in managing third party relationships including problem resolution skills

  • Proven skills in negotiating contracts and a solid understanding of commercial law.

  • Ability to manage professional relationships between Lilly and suppliers.

  • Ability to network and influence across all levels of management and across organizations

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects work independently

  • Proven problem solving, decision making, and analytical skills

  • Previous experience within the Pharmaceutical or Healthcare industry and knowledge of applicable human resource laws

Basic Qualifications:
