PRA Strategy & New Product Planning Consultant Position
The consultant plays an integral role in helping Lilly become our customers’ preferred company by using deep subject matter expertise to support decision-makers’ efforts to launch a pipeline of products that brings maximum value to Lilly’s stakeholders. This role will focus on the Bio-Medicines portfolio, including Emgality, Lasmiditan, and Tenazemab.
The complex, rapidly changing healthcare environment requires the New Product Planning/ PRA Strategy Consultant to be a resilient, agile learner who’s both accountable and adaptable as he/she constantly strives to improve new product planning, PRA strategy development / evolution, and the launch coordination processes. Leadership, strong EQ, problem-solving, analytical skills, and strong communication skills are critical in generating actionable insights, coordinating launch readiness and leading strategy development. The ideal candidate is stress tolerant, with demonstrated skills in collaboration/teamwork, influence, analysis, attention to detail, compliance, judgement and time management.
Summary of Job Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge of Lilly’s and Managed Health Care Services’s (MHS) vision, mission and business strategies/goals, and Lilly’s processes and compliance requirements.
This individual is responsible for providing guidance to brand team and MHS leadership on the translation of the brand value proposition into PRA strategy and tactics.
The position must understand how the brand value proposition resonates across the 3C: consumer, HCP and payer.
The position will operate across boundaries, requiring a blend of strong interpersonal skills, EQ, and analytic capabilities.
This individual will be expected to lead cross-functional teams across brand teams, Managed Healthcare Services, market research, and payer market research.
Exhibit knowledge of the competitive healthcare environment, the payer customer’s decision cycle, mechanisms for establishing price and reimbursement criteria, goals and metrics, decision criteria, and how these impact their priorities and decisions.
Display knowledge of product launch processes/requirements, overall process for PRA strategy development and evolution.
Continuously seek opportunities to improve the people, systems and processes that contribute to new product planning and launch coordination. Establish valid metrics, collect information and identify potential opportunities, prioritize and implement.
Build strong working relationships with internal partners throughout Lilly.
Develop strong partnerships with external business partners to achieve mutually beneficial business results.
Gather intelligence about the healthcare environment, and turn it into actionable insights that shape strategies.
Represent market insights to Lilly decision-makers, and ensure enterprise implications are considered.
Utilize analytical techniques to ensure the development of robust pricing strategies; individual will be expected to facilitate the use of primary and secondary data sources to reduce uncertainty around pricing decisions; will lead the decision-making process for pricing strategy
Generate actionable insights by serving as a conduit between MHS and Global PRA/Global Marketing, leading cross-functional U.S. PRA dive response efforts, participating in Payer Value research, contributing to the Clinical/Holistic Evidence Plan, advisory boards and Global Core Value Message Element development or revision, and consulting on U.S. PRA objectives.
Coordinate launch readiness, and lead PRA strategy development.
The New Product Planning/Channel Strategy Consultant reports to the PRA Strategy Director
Advanced degree (MBA or PharmD)
Clinical education or experience (e.g., nurse or pharmacist)
Pricing, reimbursement, and access experience
Deep understanding of laws and regulations covering U.S. providers and payers
External channel partner experience (e.g., retail pharmacist, wholesaler)
Experience designing and administering a patient support program
Ability to lead across boundaries
Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions
Demonstrated competencies in business problem definition, data analysis and interpretation
Strong Analytical and communication skills
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint require
