Our Advanced Analytics and Data Sciences organization is growing to support the entire Lilly enterprise, from Discovery to Development to Manufacturing and Commercialization of our medicines. Key responsibilities include:
Provide leadership to the actuarial discipline in the company
Partner with multidisciplinary teams and bring actuarial thinking to identify, scope, and execute on a broad range of business questions.
Lead the application of probability, statistics, economics, actuarial and finance principles and methods to measure and quantify complex risks and assess the potential financial implications of those risks.
Collaborate with data and analytics team members to review, provide recommendations for alternate and complementary problem solving approaches to generate better quality solutions.
Influence the broader implementation of actuarial thinking and practice throughout the business
MS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or closely related field preferred
Experience as a healthcare insurance actuary
Deep and broad knowledge of computational methods, statistical modeling and data mining methods and tools
Experience quantifying and evaluating the risks associated with value-based contracts
Deep knowledge and experience in programming languages (R, SAS, SQL, etc.)
Interpersonal communication skills for effective customer consultation
Teamwork and leadership skills
Self-management skills with a focus on results for timely and accurate completion of competing deliverables

BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or closely related discipline
Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
5+ years of relevant work experience as an actuary in the insurance industry
