Lilly is designing and building a new state-of-the-art Parenteral, Device Assembly, and Packaging Facility located in Concord North Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that will design, build, and startup a greenfield state-of-the-art manufacturing pharmaceutical facility.
Our new Concord North Carolina facility will be one of Lilly’s most technically advanced manufacturing sites and will include robotic technologies, integrated OT and IT technologies, and advanced data collection and analysis platforms that will result in safety improvements, increased productivity, and variability reduction.
As the Corporate Automation Packaging Integration Engineer, you will be designing and supporting multiple packaging lines with a focus on integration to Lilly’s SCADA architecture and other site-wide platforms crucial to the manufacturing of medicine. This role will be leading the integration team and directing contingent work force to install, startup, and qualify these lines.
Global Process Automation & Control Engineering (GPACE) is part of Lilly’s Corporate Engineering Tech Center (ETC). GPACE provides automation, measurement, and process control solutions. GPACE is a technical resource for training, standards, capital project delivery, and Lilly’s standard automation platforms. GPACE’s primary customers are global manufacturing and development sites, Corporate IT, and peer groups such as Global Facilities Delivery (GFD).
In addition you will have the following Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Be a champion for health and safety, diversity/inclusion, ethics, and compliance.
Partner with Global Facilities Delivery, Global Packaging, and Integration firms to develop the project delivery strategy for the Concord packaging lines.
Lead the packaging line integration design including sequence of operations, user access controls, automated alarm management, data capture and analysis, recipe and parameter management, and operational sequence procedures.
Partner with Lilly’s Corporate IT organization to integrate packaging with Manufacturing Execution Systems.
Partner with Lilly’s Global Robotic organization to integrate packaging with automated loading and unloading systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related science field.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in automation or process control.
Experience in Packaging system design and/or operation.
Experience with Rockwell Automation Platforms including FactoryTalk View SCADA and ControlLogix PLC's or other similar Automation technologies.
Knowledge related to ISE S95 principles and IT/Automation integration.
Experience in a pharmaceutical or GMP industry.
Experience in Microsoft operating systems, virtual environments, and networking.
Experience integrating equipment with MES platform.
This position will be based out of our Indianapolis office but supporting the Concord (Charlotte) North Carolina project. Therefore, this role will have travel from 50% up to a 24-month assignment in Concord North Carolina.
Schedule - 8-hour days - Monday through Friday, overtime and some weekend/holiday may be required for project support.
