Our Advanced Analytical and Data Sciences organization is growing to support the entire Lilly enterprise, from Discovery to Development to Manufacturing and Commercialization of our medicines. Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the rest of the Advanced Analytical and Data Scientists to develop, apply, and implement algorithms to make solution efficient and scalable.

  • Partner with other scientists to formulate research questions with analytic solutions, such as using dynamic differential equations, and mathematical modeling.

  • Collaborate with other analytics team members to review and provide feedback on the analytics work being done, and be willing to seek feedback from other team members about your own work

  • Stay current with respect to machine learning/statistical/mathematical/informatics modeling methodology, to maintain proficiency in applying new and varied methods, and to be competent in justifying methods selected

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Demonstrate sufficient understanding of data structure/algorithms.

  • Highly proficient to expert skills in C++, and deep understanding of computations.

  • Knowledgeable in parallel computing including GPU, high throughput parallel computing.

  • Good understanding of numerical analysis, optimization, and algorithm analysis.

  • Have knowledge in software design, such as design patterns.

  • Proficient in productivity oriented languages such a Python and R.

  • Good communication skills with can-do mindset.

  • Have good track records on software design, package development, such as reputable GitHub account.

  • Have research experience in numerical analysis, optimization research.

  • Have high quality publications on advanced computing, such as algorithm development.

  • Knowledgeable of machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms.

  • Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics

  • At least 3 months of applied statistical research experience at industry(e.g., internship or full-time employment) OR academic research centers, outside of PhD dissertation

  • At least one publication on statistical methodology in a top tier journal

  • At least one oral presentation at a statistical conference
