The role of the Enterprise DevOps, Automation & Tools team is to enable our functional/business facing IT teams to deploy consistent solutions in an autonomous and self-service manner, whilst ensuring the highest level of security and quality. The team is driven by the enterprise business needs, supporting the required people, processes, and culture transformations. This includes continuous improvement and innovation-driven processes to accelerate application development across IT and enabling business transformation.

The Test Automation Product Owner is a global role responsible for engaging with the customers of our automated software testing framework and enablement of end-to-end testing of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) as well as custom developed software including both web applications and native apps across Lilly's organization. The primary focus is to help our customers shift toward adopting a cutting-edge approach to automate secure software development and using DevSecOps best practices. In this role you will support the process and products used as part of the automated testing framework. You will also engage with the customers and champion test automation across the enterprise to increase automated testing usage and help create metrics that demonstrate the business value of test automation. This will be a cross functional role, partnering with Information Security, Quality, and other functional Information Digital Solutions areas to drive change.

  • Evangelize and support a Test Automation Strategy that enhances test execution/test coverage and consistency of different types of testing included but not limited to regression, BDD, integration, unit, end-to-end testing

  • Research and incorporate automated testing industry best practices and trends to support enterprise software test automations and products

  • Showcase to application teams how to adopt Test Automation to speed development and delivery of software solutions and the benefits of doing so

  • Collaborate with Automated Testing Technical Lead, Application Teams, and Quality to develop test strategies, test cases, developing/driving the automated testing framework and processes

  • Build inclusive relationships with our business partners across the enterprise to stress the importance of Test Automation best practices.

  • Consult with application teams about their Automated Testing Projects across the enterprise

  • Develop, Maintain, & Deliver product roadmaps that will drive Test Automation at Lilly.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • 5+ years’ programming experience (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, etc)

  • 3+ years’ experience building and working with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) solutions and concepts

  • 3+ years’ experience designing, creating, and executing test automation solutions.

  • 5+ years working with Git, specifically working in a team which adopts modern GitHub practices (Git Flow, Actions, etc).

  • 5+ years working in a software development team following modern software development practices (Testing, Code Reviews, Code Coherence, use of a multitude of frameworks/libs ).

Additional Preferences:

  • Passionate about Agile and using agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)

  • Passion for continuous learning and keeping up with the ever-changing technology curve.

  • Be able to work within a global team; collaborating with people from different time zones, specifically Europe/India.

  • Proven experience of articulating technical solutions to non-technical personnel.

  • Proven experience building relationships and networking with people outside of direct organization.

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer/AWS Certified Developer.

  • Azure Developer Associate Certified/Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions Certified.
