Organization Overview:

Fire and Security Systems (FSS) is a component of Facilities Management within Lilly Manufacturing. FSS is responsible for and manages all aspects of fire alarm, fire suppression, public address, access control, intrusion detection, security video, and key management systems across multiple campuses in the Indianapolis area. The access control and key management systems are global systems. FSS is responsible for the regulatory compliance of these systems, maintenance, and asset life cycle management including the support of capital investment projects. FSS accomplishes its mission with a core group of Lilly staff augmented by a network of external partners.

Responsibilities:

The Access Control Engineer is responsible for all activities necessary to ensure that the access control and security video system complies with all computer system validation, global security, platform, and local requirements. Understanding the system at a comprehensive level is necessary to select and guide continuous improvement activities and investments while avoiding interruptions to the business functions we support.

  • Develop and maintain an extensive working knowledge of current access control and security video system solutions.

  • Support projects related to Global Access and Security management scope of work.

  • Work with project teams by reviewing access control designs and creating Functional Specifications based on Global Security, Platform Security, and local requirements.

  • Provide required platform programing and work with local Integrators to install systems installed per the approved Functional Specifications.

  • Provide installation qualification support executed by local Global Access and Security management integrators and the onsite team.

  • Provide engineering leadership for access control and ancillary systems.

  • Ensure quality in all aspects of design, operation, and maintenance.

  • Drive system modifications due to industry and requirements changes to maintain compliance.

  • Serve as the liaison between vendors and suppliers to assist with project delivery.

  • Manage the capital program and investments related to the Access Control System.

  • Maintain the access control Master Specifications and Global Access and Security management platform installation/programming standards.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related technical area. In lieu of a degree, 5-10 years of equivalent experience in a related field is required.

  • Minimum 1+ years of experience with one or more automation platforms or access control systems, including programming, system design, and project implementation.

Additional Preferences:

  • Prior enterprise level Access Control System experience.

  • Knowledge of video surveillance systems.

  • Prior experience managing projects in SAP.

  • Experience installing IP cameras and video recorders.

  • Prior experience with one or more high level programming languages.

  • Prior experience with SQL database queries and stored procedures.

Additional Information:

  • This is an onsite position with onsite presence required the majority of the time. Normal working hours expected, with the potential for on-call support needed outside of normal working hours
