Lilly Global Supply Chain Network planner – Syringe / Device Products in Indianapolis, Indiana

The Global Supply Chain (GSC) Network plannerSyringe / Device Products . is responsible for developing and distributing a monthly high level network production plan to manufacturing sites. This plan needs to reflect the current demand and supply assumptions including inputs from senior manufacturing management and Business Units as well as recent sales and manufacturing supply performance, inventory levels and any product family technical agenda projects. It is important that the GSC Network Planner collaborate with each Manufacturing Site to understand and reflect any current or upcoming supply limitations.

The role must be able to identify and assess potential capacity/supply challenges or other risks, and recommend appropriate actions to GSC and manufacturing leadership. An appreciation of the various launch and demand realization plans from the individual Business Units and how Manufacturing can support is also needed.

The role will require strong team work with manufacturing sites and with Global product owners to understand the individual products, resources , capacities & constraints , technical agendas, marketplace dynamics, regulatory changes, etc

This position is key to ensuring the reliable supply of medicine to our patients.

Successful candidates will have an innovative and strategic mindset - able to apply deep technical understanding to meet the needs of the business and will be able to influence across functions and geographies and at multiple levels within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the desired monthly Network production plan by Site to enable detailed evaluation and integration into the local Site SnOP process. Ensure this statement of demand is in the planning systems (SAP, etc) and represents a planning horizon of 3-24 months and includes all launch/technical (flavor) agenda assumptions

  • Monitor demonstrated and future capacity in the network on a monthly basis and adjust Network guidance as appropriate.

  • Monitor inventory targets for individual products and monthly inventory levels

  • Design and monitor impact of technical agenda on plan highlight regulatory follow up and any implementation planning disconnects

  • Participate in key supply chain processes such as molecule risk assessments, inventory targeting, and maintenance of supply chain maps and supply guidelines for his/her assigned molecules

  • Work with Global product owners and Manufacturing Sites for annual Network business planning

  • Identify and prepare topics for the GS&OP meetings, including strategic discussions on capacity actions, supply constraints, and key projects (including launch updates)

  • Ensure supply continuity during complex global projects such as source changes and flavor management in complex manufacturing changes

  • Collaborate with Strategic Facilities Planning for network projects via modeling, scenario development, and demand analysis

  • Ensure strong communication between Global supply chain and Manufacturing sites .

  • Develop presentations and written communications for manufacturing senior leadership, business units, affiliates, and global launch teams.

  • Identify and influence the development of collaborative solutions working across business units, manufacturing, and other key stakeholders.

Basic Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Materials Management, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration or related field.

  • 5+ years of planning/supply chain/logistics experience

Additional Preferences:

  • Demonstrated tactical thinking, identification and delivery of supply chain efficiency initiatives.

  • Communication – Provide accurate, succinct, and effective written and oral communications.

  • Strong knowledge of SAP and associated manufacturing and planning systems . Capability to develop and utilize spreadsheets for problem-solving, system optimization, and scenario analysis. Previous experience in Manufacturing site planning activities is preferred.

  • Project Management and Planning – General understanding of the concepts and tools of project management. Demonstrated leadership on cross-functional teams. Strong team spirit

  • General business skills – Business savvy, strong people relationships, flexible and adaptable, able to deal with ambiguity. Strong self-management and organizational skills. Collaborate effectively with manufacturing sites and functional leadership, business units, and affiliate leadership.

  • Demonstrate global awareness and be willing to work globally among different time zones. Bilingual preferred.

  • Supply Chain Knowledge – APICS certification preferred. Prefer >5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. Manufacturing site experience preferred.
