Responsibilities

Market Research Analyst Overview

Market research (MR) plays a vital role in the commercialization of Lilly brands. MR is imbedded within marketing and medical functions. The work is complex, including: ecosystem analysis, insights discovery, branding & strategy development, customer communications and scenario planning. MR includes secondary analysis, qualitative and quantitative research approaches among customer groups such as Consumers, Healthcare Professionals and Payers to uncover actionable insights and make compelling recommendations.

This is a great opportunity for a marketing professional with relevant market research experiences as defined by key objectives listed below. Lilly invites you to consider this position, potentially adding value through your diverse experiences, working on critical business decisions as part of a highly integrated team. Based upon business need and diverse candidate experiences, you may be considered for position(s) within one of the following therapeutic areas: oncology, diabetes, autoimmune, neurocognition or pain. Position may be focused on the US market or be global in scope.

Basic Qualifications Requirements:

  • Completed a Masters or MBA in Market Research program

  • Expected graduation by May 2022

  • Language fluency in English (both written and verbal)

Additional Skills/Preferences

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

-Be the objective voice of the customer and market to influence marketing strategy and key business decisions. Communicate this voice effectively in various situations.

-Influences complex business issues; Influences others to adopt a new point of view on difficult concepts.

-Synthesize learning across studies, geographies and key players to develop deeper insight into the market & customer to drive strategic thinking and solution development.

-Partner with marketing teams to understand and shape business questions and evaluate primary and secondary approaches to answer those questions.

-Design approaches and data collection based on in-depth understanding of market, customer and therapeutic area. Accountable for agency oversight and their involvement in data collection and preparation for analysis.

-Development/evaluation of questionnaires, discussion guides, observation guides, and listening tools.

-Guide analytical approach used by agencies to identify critical findings and insights.

-Leverage Lilly advanced computational statistics and analytics to mine across multiple studies and data sources.

-Interpret data analysis to formulate study findings and develop the customer and market story which drives the organization to more comprehensive patient based solutions.

-Strong relationship building within MR team and business partners as well as preferred agency, peers, academic and professional societies.

-Help teammates in a variety of ad hoc projects designed to build strong relationships and contribute to team morale and support cross-team initiatives.

Participate in LMR (Lilly Market Research) wide initiatives.

Desired Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in solving complex business problems and/or guiding/executing market research studies

  • Advanced business, market research, statistics and/or social sciences degree

  • Experience in pharmaceutical/healthcare industry

  • Experience in any of the following therapeutic areas: oncology, autoimmune, diabetes, neurocognition and/or pain

  • Experience in consumer packaged goods marketing or market research

  • Effective, clear written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams

  • Candidate must be flexible to travel as needed for projects which could be domestic or international. (0-10%)
